It went on and on, right there in the groom’s suite where anyone could interrupt us at any time, neither of us giving a damn, just kissing because we could. Kissing because we loved each other too much to be separated for the time it took to get ready for the wedding. Kissing because the kiss was yet another challenge.

It was so beautiful that simply watching that kiss brought a tear to my eye. This was a couple that would make it. So in love and happy about it, it was almost a privilege to watch them enjoy one another so purely. I sighed right along with the me in the dream as she pulled back, a hazy look in her eye and a lopsided smile on her kiss-swollen lips.

“See you out there, future husband.”

Future husband—it felt so monumental even though I’d known this man practically my entire life. I couldn’t remember a time when Casey wasn’t a part of my memories, my life experiences. This was a long time coming.

His lips spread into a satisfied smile. “Love you, future wife.”

I sat up and swiped at the tears that streamed down my cheek. I wasn’t sure if the tears came from witnessing such an intimate moment between two people so in love, or because I was starting to remember, but the moment was so poignant I hiccupped.

I loved this man. The woman I was before a predator on the side of the road had stolen my memories, she loved this man with her whole heart. With every fiber of her being, and I could feel it down to my bones.

I crept from the bed to avoid waking Casey because I wasn’t ready to talk about this memory, not yet. I wanted to sit with it, relive it, experienced it again and again until I felt like the memory was mine.

On bare feet, I tiptoed down the stairs and curled up on the sofa with my eyes closed, taking note of every detail—from the lace bodice of my wedding dress to the black and navy blue swirls in Casey’s bowtie and cummerbund.

I memorized every detail, over and over again until the memory was set. Until I could recall it and talk about it like someone who had lived it.

“Megs, what are you doing down here?”

Casey’s deep, sleepy voice startled me. “Shit, Case, you scared the crap out of me.”

“Sorry.” He shrugged, not looking sorry at all. “Couldn’t sleep?”

I sucked in a breath, eyes closed as I took a final peek at Casey opening the door for me in his tux. “I slept just fine, believe me.”

The man knew how to wear me out thoroughly and just thinking the thought made me hungry for him. Again.

“Good.” He grinned. “Then what’s wrong?”

“Nothing is wrong, Casey. In fact, everything is starting to feel right. I had a dream about our wedding day. Specifically, that kiss before the ceremony.”

“Yeah?”

I nodded and my nostrils flared as Casey’s powerful legs ate up the distance between us and dropped down on the sofa beside me. “Yeah. It was even better than you said. It was hot. It was sweet. It was so hot that I got wet just reliving the memory.”

Heat flared in his blue eyes. “You remembered.” His hands cupped my face. “I’m so glad you remember, Megs.” His kiss was too short but still hot enough to set my panties on fire, if I were wearing any.

“I’m glad I remember, too,” I told him as I climbed onto his lap. “But you really downplayed just how hot and how special that moment was. In my heart, I felt like I fell in love with you again the moment before your lips touched mine, Casey.”

“Megan,” he growled and speared his fingers through my hair with a dark smile. He kissed me again, and this one was pure heat. It was the bottom part of the fire, the blue part that burned too hot to remain stable for more than a few seconds. “Megan.”

The way he said my name, so full of heat and need, I felt my core clench.

“I felt our love story in that moment, Casey. It was like one thousand years of you and me, coming together. It was beautiful.” Another tear slipped down my cheek and my husband wiped it away with the pad of his thumb.

“Our love story has been in the making since that day in second grade, Megs. I didn’t know it back then, but we were destined for one another.”

He grew hard between my legs and a low moan rose up from my belly when he pulsed against my clit. “Casey, please.”

“Please, what Megs? You know I’d do anything for you.”

I knew that, but this moment wasn’t just about me. It was about us. “What I want, Casey.” The words came out on several choppy breaths as I reached between us, fisting his cock in my hand and stroking as I brought it to where I was wet and pulsing for him. “What I really and truly want, is to please you. Fully,” I kissed one corner of his mouth. “Thoroughly.” My lips found the other corner turned into a smile. “And completely. I want to see your beautiful face as you come apart and pour your love into me.”
