Montie
Drunk in Love
I went back to my hotel and got dressed in a pair of black jeans and a gray fitted shirt. I only wanted to focus on enjoying the things available to me. My health, a thriving business, and two beautiful kids I loved beyond measure. The biggest thing I wanted to focus on was going out to a relaxing environment with good music, drinks, some sexy ladies to watch, and perhaps a good game on the screen.
An hour later, I walked through the doors of the Lapidus Lounge. I had to admit Jacob was on point in suggesting this place. The women in there were top notch and the vibe was so relaxing, it was damn near intoxicating. I walked over to the bar and placed my drink order.
“Can I get a shot of Henny?” I asked.
“Coming right up,” the bartender said before turning to grab the Hennessey off the shelf.
As I was imbibing the warm, brown fluid a few minutes later, I noticed a chick a few seats down sitting alone. Out of all the women in the joint, her aura was the most attractive. She too was tossing back shots, while looking as if she had a story of loss to tell.
After thirty minutes or so of involuntarily watching each other, I decided to put us both out of our misery. I got up out of my seat and went to sit beside her. Off the top, I didn’t want any problems with any random Miami dudes, so I asked, “Are you here alone?”
“It’s just me against the world, baby. And now that you’re here, it’s just me and you,” she said with a wink. She was slowly swaying her body to the music while in her seat. Her lively personality drew me in. She was immediately likable.
“Great, so I guess you won’t mind if I sit down next to you?” I asked as I smoothly slid onto the barstool.
“It’s a free world,” she said, going back to nursing her drinking.
“Care to tell me your name?” I asked as I made myself comfortable beside her.
Her tongue lingered outside of her mouth for a few seconds after took a sip from her drink. Her plush, pink lips pouted beautifully, as if they held the seventh wonder of the world. “I’m Tracye,” she finally said.
“Nice to meet you Tracye, I’m Montie,” I said, turning to the bartender. “Give her one more of whatever she’s drinking and I’ll take a Henny and coke this time.”
“Thanks for the drink, Montie. You don’t look like you’re from around here,” she said as she swooshed her blond hair around to the other side of her face.
“Is it that obvious?”
“Yeah,” she said with a laugh that I joined in on.
“Well, I’m from Atlanta. I’m here for my daughter’s birthday.”
“Oh, you have children?”
“Yeah, I have two children.”
“Do you have any pictures of them?”
“No I don’t have any pictures with me,” I lied.
I did have pictures of my children in my wallet. I just wasn’t about to show them to someone I just met – no matter how sexy her lips looked on he
r glass or how nicely her ass spread out across the barstool.
“Well, I bet they are gorgeous if they are anything like their father,” she said, giving me a once over. Her golden thighs were easily accessible underneath the short skirt she was wearing.
“Thanks, you’re very easy on the eyes yourself.”
I finished off my second drink and called for a third. I was feeling nice and tight, so the conversation was flowing easy with Tracye. We talked for another hour as I savored my third, fourth and fifth drink. I felt so nice when I went to settle up my tab that R-Kelly’s Step In The Name of Love flowed through my soul. I reached for Tracye and pulled her to the dance floor.
At first, she was kind of rigid. Giving her a reassuring smile, I spun her around and pulled her into my arms. She started grooving to the beat and feeling the vibe.
I was having a good ass time. The most fun I’d had since I divorced, besides that one, short-lived night when I owned every part of Destiny’s body. The night that she was all mine. The way she received me had given me hope that we would be together again.
“What’s wrong?” Tracye asked.
