“Ah.”

I lean forward so his naked chest doesn’t brush against mine. Seriously, it’s weirding me the fuck out being around all this skin.

Trix laughs, obviously able to read my thoughts based on my expression.

“Why do you always drag me into shit like this?” I ask.

She shrugs from her spot on my lap. “It’s fun. You’re easily riled, Mr. Knight.”

I press my lips against her ear, tugging her closer against me. “We’ll see how easily riled you get after we leave here,” I say. She shivers a little, and I smirk, because I’m a cocky bastard.

The nudist concert thing finally ends—thank fuck—and we all stand up from our spots on the grass and head over where there’s a bonfire set up and organic vegetables cooking over a fire. Vegetables. No meat in sight. Apart from the obvious.

I keep Trix tucked against my side as she visits with the twins, Bea and Blue. I’m amused as hell to see Harvey cringing at all the swinging dicks as much as I am. Serves the asshole right. He and Trix tricked me into coming.

Rainbow Judy Goldenshower—or whatever the fuck her name is—comes gliding up to me, the feathers in her hair flapping around like a damn bird. “Pick a card.”

She holds a deck of tarot cards in front of me, and Trix cringes. “Oh, man. This is some major fate shit right here,” she murmurs.

“No thanks, I’d rather not,” I tell Judy.

Her eyes narrow into slits. “Pick a damn card, boy. I wasn’t asking.”

Trix tugs on my arm. “Ah, fuck. Don’t pick wrong!”

“How do I know if it’s wrong?” I ask, exasperated.

She shrugs, totally unhelpful. “No idea.”

“Thanks a lot,” I say dryly.

“Pick!” Judy snaps.

“Fuck! Fine!” I reach out and pluck a card, turning it over.

Trix hovers over it, and Judy’s face regains her gooey kindness like the flip of a switch when she sees what I’ve picked. “Ah. The Lovers,” she says with a wizened nod, her tone whimsical. “In that case, you may marry my Trix.”

I gape at her, but she’s already walking away.

Trix elbows me playfully. “Don’t worry. I don’t expect you to go out and buy a ring now.”

I grimace. “Actually…”

I don’t know how that hippie knew, but here goes nothing.

I drop down on one knee.

And immediately regret it, because now I’m eye-level with a lot of naked genitalia.

Trix’s gasp of surprise brings my attention back up to her face. “Warren…”

I dig into my pocket for the velvet box I’ve been carrying around all day and open it in front of Trix. Her hand flies to her mouth.

I look up at her. “You brightened my life. Made me whole. You’re exactly perfect. Marry me, Trix Valentine.”

Her eyes are shining, but she bites on her lip. “Say please.”

My lips quirk up. “Please.”
