Pleasure burst through me, making everything tingle like pins and needles, but in a good way. I convulsed, flinching and contracting with each powerful wave. The ecstasy wiped from the top of my head down to the tips of my toes at the speed of light, and then it lingered.

“Fuck, I can feel you coming.” His voice was hurried and excited.

I let out an inaudible scream. He’d built the orgasm up in me so much, it went next-level. My legs were trembling. My lungs wouldn’t work. I struggled against my bonds, one leather and one made of flesh, trying to find something to cling to. I squeezed our fingers together so tightly, it had to hurt.

Kyle’s thrusts were erratic.

His chest, pressed to my back, hardened right along with his grip on my hand. Even the muscles in his forearm flexed and strained. My orgasm’s hold began to release me right as he seemed to find his.

He let out a deep, loud groan. Then came the slew of swear words as he climaxed. Most of the time he chanted fuck, but tonight he added in a Goddamnit. His movements jerked to a stop, and he pulsed. Each throb inside me filled me with heat and a pleasurable sensation I wanted

to go on and on.

It didn’t, though.

His eruption faded and, as he softened into me, his grip on the belt relaxed. He let me free there, but his hand remained clasping mine. I was still trapped under him, but nowhere was I more captive than I was by his mouth. His languid kiss was a prison I’d willingly stepped into and pulled the door closed behind me. I was eager to be his.

Just sexually, my mind pointed out. You won’t be his again.

His persuasive mouth, not his crushing weight, got me to stay beneath him. Even though our lust had been sated, I wanted to keep kissing him. He showed no desire to leave me, either. His lips pressed against mine. Slow and gentle.

It sent my head spinning.

Remaining like this was dangerous. When the kiss ended, I squirmed, showing him I needed up. He slid out of me and rolled onto his side, taking his heat away, and instantly I regretted the decision. My dumb heart wanted him close.

Fuck, all the more reason to get out of his bed and go home.

“Everything okay?” he whispered.

“Yeah.” I freed myself completely from the belt, climbed off the bed, and shuffled through the dark doorway I assumed was the bathroom.

It was.

When I was done, I leaned against the doorframe and gazed at him. Kyle was sitting back against the headboard, the covers over his lap.

“Let’s try this again. Everything okay?” His tone was light, but his eyes couldn’t hide he was concerned. I’d been in the restroom a while, spending a little time examining the interesting marks he’d left on me, and a lot of time mentally preparing myself. I needed to put distance between us, like, yesterday.

“It’s fine,” I said.

He treated me to his blank expression, disguising the thoughts going on in his head. “Mind bringing me my drink when you come to bed?”

I crossed my arms under my breasts. “I don’t think that’s a good idea.”

“And why’s that?”

How could I tell him? He was the only man I’d ever loved. I couldn’t have amazing sex and cuddle with him afterward, no matter how much I wanted to, and expect to stay immune.

I frowned. “It’s just not, okay?”

He flung the covers off and was up out of the bed so fast, it was stunning. His palms were warm as he held my arms and pulled us chest to chest.

“Remind me,” he demanded. “What was the line you made me add to our agreement?”

I sighed and stared up into his eyes. Why did he look worried? “Fine, you want honesty? Your agreement doesn’t say shit about getting into bed with you after we’ve . . .” Did he understand what I was trying to say? “I can’t shut off my emotions completely. You put in the final paragraph, so if you want this to work, I’m going to need distance after we’re together.”

He blinked slowly, and then had the fucking nerve to laugh. It was a warm, deep sound.

“What the hell is so funny?”
