Kai no longer looks charming. The anger is clear on her face, and there is no hiding it. She’s pissed at Liesel for kissing me.

While Liesel on the other hand, looks smug and happy.

“I completely understand,” Milo says swimmingly to Liesel, and my anger at Liesel’s stunt dissipates.

I pull Liesel to me harder, knowing it will throw Kai off her game while also making Milo crave Liesel more.

“When you find the person you desire, everything else just disappears,” Milo says, but his gaze soon turns from Liesel to Kai, indicating Kai is the woman he’s chosen for tonight.

Fuck, fuck, fuck.

I need to get him away from Kai now, before he falls any further for her.

“How about a game of poker? I haven’t played in years, and I’ve heard you are the best.”

“Nah, I’m good. You are welcome to play. There is a table set up downstairs,” Milo says.

In the main rooms, not the VIP area.

Milo continues to stare at Kai like she’s the only one in the room.

“I have a cuban, I’d love to smoke. Would you care to join me?” I ask.

Milo looks at me for a second. “After the fireworks, I always enjoy a good cuban after hearing that racket.”

The fireworks aren’t happening until much later in the night. I’ve played all of my cards. I don’t know what else I can do short of throwing Liesel in between them.

“Will you show me the top deck? I would love to see the view from up there,” Kai asks.

Milo grins and holds out his hand, which Kai takes without hesitation or a wince on her face.

Milo starts leading her upstairs.

“We’d love to see the view,” Liesel cuts in, grabbing my arm.

We follow them up, and it takes everything in me not to rip Kai from Milo’s arms.

Kai leans into his ear and whispers something, her eyes locked in an evil glare with mine.

I thought she got the hint when I fucked her in the bathroom and demanded she was mine, but apparently not.

Apparently, she’d rather cling to Mr. Boring here.

“It’s beautiful,” Liesel says when we reach the top, trying to barge in on Milo and Kai’s romantic moment.

“You’re beautiful,” Milo says stroking Kai’s cheek.

Really? Can the guy be any more cheesy?

We all stand in silence for a minute, watching the stars go by overhead.

“I have a surprise for you,” Milo whispers to Kai, holding her in front of his body.

Liesel leans into me, but I don’t think the jealousy thing is going to work with Milo. Not when he’s so fascinated with Kai.

A firework starts to go off. And we all ooh and ahh.

“I thought the fireworks weren’t supposed to go off until later?” Liesel asks.
