“Say something.”

“I…” She grins.

I cock my head as I wait, second after second, for her to finish her sentence. My heart beats fast as I wait the unbearable seconds.

“I think I already love you.”

My lips crash down on hers as my hands cling to her body. Now, I need to fuck her again.

She laughs. “Wait…I love you, and it’s clear you love me even if you won’t fully admit it yet. But what does that mean? How will this work? We work together. You’re still in love with…” But she doesn’t finish her sentence.

I grab her chin and look her square in the eye. “I’m in love with you.”

Her eyes flitter back and forth between mine, trying to find the truth. But I’m not hiding anything. I’m telling her the truth.

When she’s satisfied, she says, “And what about at work? The realtors aren’t going to be happy with us dating and my promotion.”

I nod. “They don’t have to know that we are dating.”

She narrows her eyes. “How? I can’t keep a secret from the company for more than a couple of hours. I’m sure they have already figured out that I broke up with Owen, and they probably already know that I’m here with you, that we are together. We can’t hide it from them.”

“They have probably figured out that you broke up with Owen. But, as far as they know, you and I still hate each other. And I’ll just say, I brought you here for training, which is the truth.”

She nods, but I don’t think I’ve convinced her.

“We will go to work and pretend to hate each other, as always. Then, at night, we will be free to do as we please. I can take you on fancy dates. Do more unthinkable things to your body.”

Her breathing slows again.

“It will be fun, sneaking around the office, trying not to get caught,” I whisper into her ear.

She bites her lip, and I know I have her.

“Now, come here, and let me fuck you before we land.”

She squeals as I grab her.

Olive is mine.

“What the hell is going on?” I ask Floyd as I get back to the office.

Olive walks into the office past me and straight to her desk, practically ignoring me.

She’s good, I think.

“We lost the Margo account. They were our biggest client. We helped them find properties for their businesses and homes all over the world,” Floyd says.

“How in the world did that happen?” I ask, not understanding how, in less than twenty-four hours, everything has fallen apart so horribly.

Floyd looks down. “We missed a few deadlines and weren’t able to find them what they were looking for. They were already on thin ice before when we couldn’t negotiate a lower price for a restaurant they opened last month.”

I run my hand through my hair, not ready to deal with this now.

“You’re fired,” I tell Floyd.

“What? You can’t do that! I’m the best realtor you have,” Floyd says.
