Laurent zipped up his jacket, giving the bike a wary look. He must have seen guys ride them and take girls on the bitch seat, so it couldn’t be that he didn’t understand the concept of it. Beast was beginning to suspect that Laurent simply didn’t want to be so close to him for a prolonged period of time, and that made him suddenly regret he’d asked Laurent to come along in the first place.
“Just stay if you’re not up for it,” he said and mounted his bike in a quick, somewhat aggressive movement.
But then he felt a presence behind him, and moments later the slim arms wrapped around him, and a chest pressed against Beast’s back.
“Is this okay?” Laurent whispered.
Beast took a deep breath and gave a few instructions for Laurent to be steady on the bike, but his mind was in turmoil. Laurent’s arms felt so good. When was the last time someone had ridden with him like this?
Before the accident, when he was still madly in love and wanted to be the only guy in his man’s world.
Grim thoughts burned his muscles, and he shook his head, starting the bike. “We’re heading out!”
Laurent pulled closer still to Beast and his thighs tensed against Beast’s. “Is it supposed to tremble this much?” The question was about the engine, but Beast could only think of the arms shivering around him. The embrace felt burning hot even through the leather, and he needed to steady his voice before answering.
“Just hold on to me. Alright?” he asked and looked back.
Laurent nodded so vigorously his helmet wiggled back and forth. Beast needed to make sure Laurent rode with no one else.
When his foot lifted off the ground, and the motorcycle moved forward, Laurent’s whole body seemed to mold to the shape of Beast’s back. His helmet dug into Beast’s flesh, long fingers clutched at his leathers so frantically it made his stomach twist with pleasure. This would most likely be as close as Beast would ever get to fucking Laurent, so he’d enjoy it for what it was.
As the bike gained momentum, speeding up along the narrow asphalt road through the woods, fresh air filled Beast’s lungs and he could breathe freely for the first time in days. The roar of other machines singing in a choir with his own motorbike was just the melody to soothe him.
Laurent was so still, so motionless behind him that for a moment Beast considered stopping to see if he was all right. But he leaned slightly forward, and Laurent leaned in with him instead of staying stiff, as if they had somehow become one body. The slim arms tightened further when Beast made the bike roar.
The asphalt road was on the empty side even after they all left the grounds belonging to the clubhouse, and they saw barely any cars until they reached the outskirts of Brecon. Laurent was clinging to him so tightly it felt as if he were yet another part of Beast’s body. He stopped being so tense too, and it was a pleasant thought that it was Beast who made him feel so secure. Beast kind of missed the close contact already and was looking forward to feeling it again on the way back. He didn’t exactly enjoy scaring Laurent, but knowing that right now he was the master of both their lives gave him a thrill.
Beast wondered if he should have taken Laurent after all, considering that otherwise it was only him and his brothers, but at the end of the day it was not an official club run. They were doing this behind King’s back, and while all the men declared the viewing would stay between them, he still feared the secrecy could bite him in the ass in the future.
King would have been furious if he knew about Beast organizing this, and he would let them all know, but the Kings of Hell were sensible men. They knew how much renovations would cost in an old building like their current clubhouse. It was only logical to move, even if it required initial investment, since upkeep would be much cheaper and easier than repairs on a grand scale. Hell, considering what had happened to poor Davy, they’d likely have specialists crawling all over the place and testing the quality of the construction, which would drain the club’s pockets even before actual repairs began.
Laurent relaxed behind him, his arms resting comfortably against Beast’s stomach now, as if the two of them were made for each other despite their difference in size. They sped behind Knight until they reached the ocean and rode along the coast. The wind was a soft breeze, gently caressing Beast’s face with its salty whiff.
They had to slow down when driving through town, and Beast was glad to see Knight leading the cavalcade of bikes down the main street. He could sense Laurent shifting slightly behind him as they moved between small houses with colorful wooden facades and old-fashioned streetlights. Retractable awnings protected passersby from sunlight while they walked past cute stores selling everything from local souvenirs to fresh food.
