Owning His Virgin - Page 17

That is why I am currently walking into Jorgensen Jewelers. Though we are already married, I recognize she deserves a diamond, and I was an impatient dick, who didn’t get her one. I gave her the wedding band my grandfather gave my grandmother when they married and even though I hate my father, I loved my grandmother. My grandfather was an ass like my father. Teresa told me she didn’t need all of that and I believe her. But I need to show her, somehow, I am not ashamed of her, while getting her to understand that I am doing what I feel is best for all of us. Walking in, I see Torran is at the counter with another customer, so I browse the case. I am more than impressed with the collections and quality of diamonds they have here.

My eyes land on a case of solitaires in platinum settings. All of them are equally beautiful, but it’s the one surrounded in a halo of peach diamonds that says her name. “Del Vecchio,” Torran says as he walks over to me.

“Jorgensen. How are the wife and baby?”

“Perfect. I hear my brother married you and your lady not too long ago.”

“That is right. It was impromptu and I didn’t have time to give her a proper engagement ring. Trying to rectify that now.” I tell him, being honest. He chuckles and nods his head.

“Trust me man I get it. See anything you like?” Pointing to the ring, he smiles.

“This one is definitely a beauty. Give me a minute. I will ring you up and polish it a bit. Certificate of authentication is also included.”

“Excellent.'' When he walks to the back, I continue to browse and see a diamond necklace and earring set. I remember hearing someone say once something about a push gift. I think this would be perfect. Torran walks in and I also purchase this.

“You must have fucked up pretty bad, huh?” he says, smirking at me. It’s true, but he doesn’t need to know that.

“Nah. She just deserves it.” There. Simple and also the truth. Walking out of the store, I am still thinking. Trying to come up with something else, some romantic way to surprise her and say I am sorry, and it hits me. She loves movies. All kinds and she loves going to the movies. Pulling out my phone, I call Kirk, the owner of the old-fashioned movie theater we have here and ask him for a hell of a favor.

“Let me get this straight,” Kirk says, “You want me to set up an in-house movie theater in your living room with a popcorn machine?” His voice is incredulous, and I don’t blame him. I know I am grasping at straws, but I am desperate.

“Yes. Can you do it?”

“I can do it, but it is unorthodox and expensive.”

“Money is no object. She is out right now at the spa with the girls. I would like it done before she gets back. Say in less than two hours.”

“Well, shit. I will see what I can do.” Rushing home, I clean up and get dinner in the oven. Deciding I need a shower, I am just finishing up when Kirk and his crew show up. At the same time, I get a message from Teresa saying she will be home in thirty minutes. Right on time. Making sure the burgers are cooking okay, I walk back in the living room and see they are basically done. “The popcorn should be done in twenty minutes. We left you two movie choices and instructions for how to work the projector. We will be back at the crack of fucking dawn.” Locking the door, I look around impressed at myself. I pull the burgers from the stove and get the salad ready right as she is walking in.

“D,” she says as she looks in the living room.

“Hey baby. I missed you,” I tell her, pulling her into my arms. She comes, willingly, but she is still held back from me and fuck if it isn’t pissing me off.

“What’s all this?” she asks, gesturing toward the crazy shit I have done to our home.

“It’s my apology to you and something special for us. You like it?” I ask, smiling at her as I set the table.

“It’s… sweet and insane,” she says, but she still doesn’t look happy. Plating our food, dinner is in silence, but I decide to give her a second. When we are done, I send her into the living room to get comfortable, but when I walk in there, she isn’t sitting, and she isn’t happy.

“Teresa, talk to me, baby,” I ask her, attempting to pull her into my arms. She pulls back from me and the beast inside of me roars. The part of me that has claimed her and knows he owns her, is pissed and feeling territorial.
