“More like a lusty twenty-six-year-old who knew I’d land you in my bed.” Jax makes quick work of the condom.

Who knew I’d have a thing for cocky men?

He grabs onto my thighs and drags me toward the edge of the mattress.

My spine tingles in anticipation. “What happened to doggy style being your favorite position?”

He rubs his tip across my slit, preparing me. “There’s always next time.”

Next time. Because he wants to do this again. Such a simple statement has my heart clenching in my chest.

He lifts both my legs and places them over his shoulders. In one swift motion, he enters me. A hiss escapes my mouth at the sudden intrusion. No warning. No sweet kisses. Nothing but pure dominance as his fingers clutch onto my hips, leaving behind indentations.

Damn, I like it. I like the way his eyes shut—an image of bliss and something else I can’t translate. He opens his eyes, staying rooted in his spot as he looks deeply into mine as if he can read me.

A wave of emotion takes over. I lift myself up on my elbows to plant a soft kiss on his lips. “Are you okay?”

“Yes. I’m a bit overwhelmed.”

I don’t ask why, and he doesn’t explain himself. Jax leans over to leave a trail of kisses from my jawline to my neck. He moves again. His pumps grow more erratic as I match his thrusts.

I love the feel of him. The fullness, the strength, the growing buzz inside of my body.

His fingers lift my ass off the bed as he adjusts his angle, hitting me in a way that steals my breath away one thrust at a time. The warmth spreading across my spine grows stronger as my orgasm

takes over my mind and body.

My explosion encourages Jax, who becomes desperate as his fingers grip my ass cheeks to the point of pain. I clutch onto the comforter to hold my position as he continues to slam into me.

His cock brushes against my G-spot once more, eliciting another out-of-body experience for me.

“Fuck!” Jax’s body shudders while his hips continue pumping into me. His pace slows as he collects himself. He removes my legs from his shoulders before his body collapses on top of mine, tucking his head into my neck.

“Elena…what the bloody hell am I going to do with you?” He leaves behind the softest kiss at my racing pulse point.

“I’m sure we can get creative.”

He lets out a rough laugh—one that fills my heart with a warmth I want to trap there. One I want to bring out of him every day until he grows comfortable with happiness and optimism.

One I wouldn’t mind being the reason for every single day.

Everything changed yesterday. I didn’t expect to destroy any last boundaries between Elena and me. But with her sad eyes and traumatizing past, I couldn’t help the desire to make things right between us. To be someone she can count on in a world that took almost everything from her, and to make amends for the shit I’ve done.

Sometime in the middle of the night, she escaped my room, leaving me to wake up in an empty bed smelling of her and us.

Uncertainty takes hold of me, making me anxious to find her. The thought of her holding back again and avoiding me doesn’t sit well with me after what we shared.

And fuck did we share. Addicted doesn’t begin to cover how I feel about her. If last night was any indication about how it can be between us, I want to punch the old me for holding back this long.

I walk to the center of the house where her guest suite is located and knock on the door. “Elena, open up.”

The door opens to a groggy Elena with her wavy hair resembling something out of an eighties’ music video. I stare at her thighs, poorly hidden by her large T-shirt. Purplish bruises peek out, drawing a smile from me. I’d love to turn her around, lift the hem of her shirt, and see if her ass bears my fingerprint marks. I may have been a bit rough, but I couldn’t hold back. After ignoring my attraction to her for months, it was hard to rein in my desire, and her body took the brunt of it.

She rubs at her eyes. “What’s up? I’m napping.”
