Showing up at my home was the final straw. I didn’t need anyone getting the wrong idea. Especially my wife. I’d ripped her a new asshole. It was the first time I’d ever spoken to a woman like that, but I knew I needed to be stern or she wouldn’t get the message. I also made sure I’d done it in front of my building doorman, so someone witnessed the interaction.
I was really hoping that would be the end of it, but I played it safe. With how erratic Stacy was being, I reached out to Judge Adams to get a restraining order put in place against her. I knew I needed to think about protecting Gabriella. If anyone knows how crazy people can get when they think they’re in love with someone, it’s me. I’ve seen it all. I didn't need Stacy making my wife a target.
I finally wrapped up her divorce this week. It’s why I had to show up to court. The divorce had been going on for two long years, and they didn't even have kids. Thank fuck, or it would’ve taken longer.
Her cheating husband was a piece of work and as crazy as her. They actually kind of fit together. Stacy has a nasty side. I don’t know if it’s from years of being in that marriage or if it is her normal. With me she’s always been nice, but I think she had dreamed up some made-up love story in her head about us. One she feeds to the tabloids. That’s why I was never on the receiving end of one of her nasty meltdowns. Until now.
I should have known she’d show up here.
“We’re in love,” Stacy screams, drawing everyone’s attention to her. Her eyes grow wild. A tingling forms at the base of my spine. It’s the same one I get when an opposing attorney is about to drop some bombshell on me. Or what they think is one.
“Wrong. You may be in love with him.” Gabriella pops her head out from behind me. “But the only person my husband is in love with is me,” she informs her.
My cock immediately hardened when she claimed me and called me her husband. I want to kiss her and tell her how right she is, but with how unpredictable Stacy looks, I know now is not the time. My cock isn’t getting that memo.
“No.” Stacy shakes her head as she glances around the resort lobby. “He loves me.” Everyone is staring at us, wondering what the hell is going on.
I watch as Stacy reaches inside of her purse, pulling out a gun. Gabriella’s fingers dig into the back of my shirt, holding on to me before she drops a bomb of her own.
“I love you, too.”

Gabriella
The words come easily from my lips. I have no idea what is going to happen next, but he needs to know how I feel. I’ve just found Kenton, I can’t lose him already. This man is going to be my rock in life. I know it.
How fast I’ve fallen for this man might be crazy and unbelievable to some, but it’s true. It was love at first sight. I may have been drunk when I agreed to marry Kenton, but part of me knew what I was doing. I never do anything crazy. My heart recognized him from the start and led the way that night.
“You can’t love him. He’s mine.” She stomps her foot, almost falling over in her heels. She’s lost all sense of reality at this point.
I knew from the second I spotted the tall blonde who she was. She’s hard to miss, and those pictures I saw online are branded into my brain. I didn’t see a ring on Kenton’s hand in those pictures, but I did notice he wasn’t touching her in any of them. When Kenton is with me, the man can’t keep his hands off of me.
When he said he loved me as a way of explaining things, it jolted me right back to reality. I could tell his words were sincere. It made me realize that I’d let my mind get the best of me. I try to peek out again, but Kenton shifts his big body to make sure no part of me is exposed.
“Stacy.” Kenton says her name calmly. “You need to think rationally.”
“We’re supposed to be together.” Her voice comes out whiny. “Don’t you want me?” Her voice comes out sexy this time. It’s a flip of a switch for this girl. “Don’t you want me? All men want me.” I want to pipe up and tell her that my man is the exception, but I keep my mouth shut, knowing anything coming from me will only escalate the situation.
“I’ve never crossed any line with you, Stacy.” Every muscle in Kenton’s back is hard and straining, but he manages to keep himself calm. My fingers dig more into his shirt, knowing she still has the gun out. The entryway to the hotel is eerily quiet.
