Valkyrie's Harem (Academy of Immortals 1) - Page 15

I don’t have to be told twice.

I run a hand along her backside, while stroking my cock, muttering, “Gods,” at the sight of her splayed before me. Her ass is curvy and round, her hips have enough meat for me to hold onto. I glide myself between her legs, getting myself as slick as she is and then, with only my thumbs pressing into her flesh, push myself inside.

“Oh,” she cries, ass hitching upward. I pull her to me, pushing inside as far as possible. She clings to the rail, bracing herself for my thrusts. I reach between her legs and use my fingers to bring her to pleasure. You don’t get to be a legend without a few refined skills.

Her knees buckle and I hold her upright, anchoring her against my chest. Tension coils and uncoils in my loins, and the sound of our bodies meeting one another echoes in my ears. As I pound into her, I think one thing. I shouldn’t be doing this. She shouldn’t be doing this. Not

with me. Not with her, but I can’t stop, and I don’t stop until she’s crying out my name and I’m spilling inside.

For a split second, I feel nothing but pleasure and fullness.

And I think she does, too.

Hildi

I roll over on my creaky mattress, my body aching from having sex with Marshal the night before. I hadn’t gone up there expecting that. I just needed to cool off after the scene with Roland. It’s not the first time Marshal has come to me right when I needed him—needed someone—to help me release some tension. It doesn’t hurt that he’s ridiculously handsome, with a face created by the gods themselves and a body that knows how to please a woman.

But that, I think, stretching my arms over my head, has to be the last time. There won’t be opportunity for random hook-ups. We’ll be fighting for our lives and to stop the apocalypse. And seriously, Marshal is an asshole. Fucking him, despite his good looks, is a low.

A knock on the door echoes through the room. I walk over and open it. Sam stands on the other side. He eyes my hair, which is sure to be wild as a bird’s nest. “I came down to let you know Dylan wants to meet with you all today.”

“Sure. Let me get dressed.”

He pauses in the doorway.

“Something else?”

“I just want to thank you for doing this, Hildi. It means more than you can understand. Having Morgan back—having a baby—it’s beyond what we ever imagined would happen.”

I give him a smile. “I’m happy to do it—really.”

He reaches out and takes my hand. “Listen, I’ve seen some things—”

I shake my head. Sam is able to see the future through the lens of his camera. “I don’t want to know.”

He nods. “It’s just…this journey is going to test you in many ways. All of you. Protect yourself. Know your allies. Don’t be afraid to trust them.”

“You mean the Legion? I should trust them?” I do. I think. We’ve fought together before.

He places his hand on my wrist, thumb grazing over my pulse. “Trust them here,” he says. “Inside. Where it counts.”

He gently releases my hand and flashes me an encouraging grin before heading back upstairs.

I have no idea what Sam is talking about or what he wants me do to, but I do agree with one thing; this journey is going to be a test and I hope I can pass it.

With the ceremony hours away, Dylan calls me and the six—no, five—Immortals into the library. The other Guardians are there. Morgan is not.

He holds up the text Professor Christensen left a few days before. “This book will be your bible during the Crusade. Inside you’ll find clues to the Stone of Knowledge, maps leading you to where it’s hidden and how to find the temple. There is information about past Crusades that may be helpful to the current one.” He levels his blue eyes at me. “There are also pages of information on how to kill or eliminate your opponents.”

“What form will these opponents take?” Armin asks with his soft German accent.

Clinton jumps in. “That’s unknown. Each time it’s different, which provides its own obstacles on how to handle them. Study the book, it will be helpful.”

Agis rolls his eyes. “We’ve fought in dozens of wars. I think we can handle a few obstacles.”

Damien’s arms are crossed over his chest. His earrings glint in the lamplight. “Last time it was vampires. The time before that, angels.”
