Apollo (Cerberus MC)

I fucking hate that kid and his asshole parents, but I can’t take care of my family from jail.
I’m wound too tight to be in bed with my wife where I should be, and that just pisses me off even more.
I grind my teeth as I walk into the garage. Maybe I can find something to break, and when I see Legend sitting in the corner, drinking a beer with a sour look on his face, I’m wondering if popping him in the nose isn’t the best thing.
“Does your girl know you crawled out of bed?” Legend snaps when he notices me.
That’s another tick in the pro column of hitting him.
“Maybe keep an eye on the door in case she decides to catch a cab and haul ass out of here.”
“What is your fucking problem?” I snap. “You’ve been in a foul-ass mood since the attorney’s office.”
Legend looks down at the beer in his hands as if it holds the answer for him.
“Faith Robbins isn’t interested in me,” Legend says after a long silence. “Like not even a little flirty.”
“Okay. So flirt with someone else.”
He grumbles something under his breath, but I have too much other shit going on in my life to worry about unreciprocated advances between him and the attorney.
I grab a beer from the fridge and take a seat in one of the chairs opposite of him. We drink in silence, both of us with our minds full without speaking. Before long, a few more guys trickle in, including our boss.
I’m comfortable with Kincaid, but at the end of the day, he’s the man that signs our paychecks, and that demands a little higher awareness when he’s around.
“How’d the meeting go?” Kincaid asks as he grabs a beer for himself.
“Good. That little twerp helped a lot. He wants nothing to do with the baby, and he made that very clear. Their attorney knew it was a lost cause and got up and left before the meeting was even over.”
“That’s great news,” Kincaid says, a huge smile on his face.
I tilt up my beer, draining it, and stand. “I better get back to bed.”
Legend grumbles something again, but I’ve learned to just ignore him when he gets like this. I’ve never seen him so irritated that he approached a woman who shot him down, but it was due to happen eventually.
“Early morning?” Kincaid asks as I toss my empty beer bottle in the recycling bin.
“I think April and I are going to look for a house in town tomorrow. All of the stuff she bought yesterday is too much to keep in one room. Once the baby gets here—”
“Why don’t you build on Cerberus property?” Kincaid asks, his brows drawn together.
My heart rate kicks up. “I didn’t know it was an option. I figured I needed to be here longer.”
Kincaid shakes his head. “No. I can easily sell you some of the land, and you guys can build. I can’t guarantee construction will be complete by December, but—”
“Thank you,” I blurt, stopping short of giving the guy a hug because I don’t know how it will be received. “You don’t know what this means to me, to us.”
He smiles. “I do. You’re family Apollo, and if you want to stay close to your family, then it’s the least I can do.”
“April wanted to stay,” I explain. “She feels safe here.”
Kincaid nods again when I thank him over and over, and then I haul ass out of the garage. I know she’s sleeping, but this is the type of news that can’t wait.
The sight of her bare leg distracts me the second I walk into the room. Her milky skin is in sharp contrast to the dark gray sheets, and I strip the second I lock the bedroom door. The soft light from the cracked bathroom door makes her look like an angel, and I feel like a devil, wanting to soil her just a little, to round out some of those hard edges, make her pliable under me.
I should climb into bed and tell her the news in the morning, but my lips are on her calf before I can stop myself. She moans in her sleep by the time I make it to her thigh, and I realize she’s awake when she rolls over and spreads her legs, the heaven between her thighs already glistening for me.
“Having good dreams, baby?” I ask as I spread her open with my fingers and press my lips to her clit.
“The best. Mmm… I like that.”
“And this?” I suck the most sensitive part of her into my mouth.
Her back arches, her body seeking exactly what she needs even when she’s too embarrassed to use the words. News of building on the property is forgotten for the next hour.
It isn’t until she’s panting against my chest, her lips curled up in a smile against my skin that I remember what I came in here to tell her.
