Brooke
Brooke straightened her skirt and looked out at the press gathered in front of her. Tyler and Lee were in the wings, arms crossed with serious gazes plastered on their faces.
She swallowed hard, wondering why she had agreed to hold the press conference on her own. The least she could done was have an assistant next to her. Somehow this felt more monumental than the first day back in Denver did. Dreams with Wings had become her project. It meant almost as much to her as the two men in her life.
Knowing they were there to support her was all she needed to get through this. She inhaled a full breath. They counted on her. Dreams with Wings was their cornerstone.
She smiled at the crowd.
“Welcome,” she spoke into the microphone. “I’m so excited you’ve joined us at StarCon Global today to talk about Dreams with Wings.”
She beamed as the cameras flashed rapidly.
She didn’t have to see them to know they were proud of her. For the first time in her life Brooke knew what it meant to have a real family. To be able to trust and love with abandon. To let herself fall like no one was watching. To let her heart get swept in the magic of their touches. The heat of their sheets. The strength in their powerful bodies.
Her life would never be the same and she didn’t want it to be. She couldn’t picture a life without Lee and Tyler.
The screen flashed behind her and she launched into her presentation about the newest component of the foundation. The words flowed easily. Her voice grew louder. The confidence emanated from her as the presentation went on.
After the Q&A with the reporters the lights dimmed and Brooke walked off the stage.
“Brilliant.” Lee smiled. He kissed her on the cheek.
“You were a tiger out there.” Tyler snaked a hand around her waist. “You killed it.”
“You think so?” She searched their eyes for confirmation she had done exactly what she set out to do—represent Dreams with Wings like the pillar it deserved.
“I know so.” Lee winked. “I think this calls for a celebration.”
“My office. Five minutes,” Tyler grinned.
“Five minutes?” Brooke pouted.
“I promise it will be worth the wait.” He winked, turning away from her. He left a faint wake of cologne.
She watched them walk out of view and felt the familiar tingle in her core. It didn’t make much to make her feel tipsy around them. They were all masculinity and protectiveness.
Brooke decided to stop by her office on her way to Tyler’s corporate suite. Maureen was bustling around with flowers.
“Where did those come from?” Brooke pointed to the arrangement.
“You do have your share of admirers around here.”
Brooke still didn’t know how they were going to handle the public portion of their relationship. At home it was one thing. The staff at the penthouse knew they shared a bedroom. There was one giant king-sized bed and it was rare that the three of them didn’t sleep in it together. Everyone had his or her own room, but it didn’t seem to make sense to sleep alone when there was so much to share together.
But here at the office, the unconventional nature of their relationship would hurt their brand. And she knew it would hurt Dream with Wing’s reputation. It was the one thing that hurt her heart the most. She couldn’t live publicly with the two men she loved the most.
Brooke wondered if Maureen’s comment implied she knew something about her relationship with the CEOs.
“They’re beautiful.” She inhaled the red and white roses, knowing exactly who had sent them. “Any messages?” she asked.
“I’ve sent everything to your inbox,” Maureen reported.
“Thank you.” She closed her laptop.
“Are you leaving already?”
