“A work of art?” he deadpans.

Leaning forward, I press a kiss to the base of his dick. “Mmhmm.”

“How can you be so weird and so sexy all at—fuuuuuck!”

His words melt away as I draw his tip into my mouth, swirling my tongue and sucking hard. “What was that about me being weird?”

“Sexy. You’re so fucking sexy.”

“Damn right I am.” I lean over and grab my cupcake from the dash. “Lift your shirt.”

I can tell he wants to ask why, but he doesn’t. Because he trusts me, I think happily.

With one last sweet smile, I drag my cupcake over his abs, smearing the frosting into the hard muscle, before dragging it lower toward his thick, hard cock.

His hips twitch as I scoop the last of the icing and rub it up and down his shaft and then lick my fingers clean. “Dammit, Luna, what—”

I cut off his protest with my lips, licking and sucking the frosting from his stomach. His long fingers thread through my hair, massaging my scalp in time with my ministrations.

His belly quivers and his breathing accelerates as I work my way lower.

“Tastes so good,” I murmur just before swallowing his cock whole.

“God—fuck—Stella!” He bucks his hips, shoving his dick all the way to the back of my throat.

My eyes water and I have to force myself to breathe through the urge to gag.

He continues thrusting up from beneath me, until finally with one last guttural cry, he spills his release down my throat and sinks back into the seat, sated and spent.

I slide his dick from my mouth and grab a napkin from his cupholder, wiping away the sticky remnants of the frosting as best I can.

“You gonna let me get you off?” he murmurs.

I shake my head. “Nope. You always put my pleasure first. So, that was all for you.”

“I swear I didn’t bring you out here just to get some.” He tucks himself back into his jeans and cringes. “Still a little sticky.”

A bubble of laughter bursts out of me. “Yeah, you’re gonna need a shower when we get home.”

“You’ll join me?” he asks.

I nod.

He smiles, pleased. “Good.”

“I love you, Samson.” I snuggle into his side.

“Love you too.” He presses a kiss to the top of my head. “Was tonight a good way to end the year?”

“It was almost perfect,” I answer, sadness over my misplaced necklace creeping in.

“Almost?”

“I just wish I could find—d”

“Find this?” He tugs a familiar silver chain from his pocket.

Disbelief and joy duke it out inside of me. “You ass!” I lightly smack his chest. “You had it the whole time? Why did you let me—wait. What’s that? Why…” Tears fill my eyes. “…Why are there two rings?”

Samson shifts against the bench so that he’s facing me. “I told you when I got you this.” He holds up the original ring to emphasize his words. “That it was a promise—that it meant every part of me belonged to every part of you. And that’s as true today as it was then. Maybe even more so now. I love you, Luna. I. Love. You.”

He lets the ring fall and then lifts the other. It’s a simple yellow gold band with a cluster of smaller diamonds ringed around the center stone to look like a daisy. It’s dainty and perfect and so totally me.

“I also told you I’d get you a real ring, one with a diamond.”

“Samson,” I breathe his name, my heart pounding in my chest. Is this going where I think it is?

“I also warned you this was coming.”

Oh my God. It is. It so is.

“I want to experience every single thing this life has to offer with you by my side. I want you to wear my ring, to have my last name, and then further on down the line, I want you to be the mother of my children. I want it all with you, Luna. I love you. Say yes.”

“Stella Carter does have a pretty nice ring to it, huh?” I ask through my tears.

“Sounds like it was meant to be.”

“That’s because we are. Meant to be, I mean.”

“Still haven’t heard that yes.”

“Yes!” I shriek. “A hundred times yes. A million. All of those things you want, I want them too. You’re my everything, Samson Carter. It’s always been you.”

He unhooks the clasp and slips the new ring from the chain. “Let me see your hand.”

It shakes as I hold it out to him, but he slides the ring onto my finger with sure hands.

“Now, let me hook this back around your neck. That way you have both of my promises on you at all times—one for everyone else to see and one right by your heart.”

I turn my back to him and gather my hair. His fingers brush against the back of my neck, sending the best kind of chills down my spine.
