“Tonight was perfect,” Samson murmurs once he’s done.
“I can think of one thing that would make it better.” I lick my lips. “It would be the icing on the cake, so to speak.”
His eyes narrow. “What’s that?”
“Let’s go back to your place so we can really celebrate. Who knows, if we time it just right, maybe I can scream your name right into the new year.”
Samson buckles his seat belt and throws his truck into gear. “Now there’s a tradition I can get behind.”
I can’t help but grin as he tears back down the trail toward the main road. Tonight truly is the first night of the rest of our lives together. And I’ll be dammed if I can think of any other man I’d want to spend forever with.
