Gemma: A Mafia Forbidden Romance

Ruined me.
I want them to feel guilty.
Because I am broken, and angry, and fucking miserable—and it’s their fault.
“Where’s Gio?” I ask.
Gian glances away from his phone and looks up. I look to where his gaze landed, the sight shocking me.
Gio is walking toward us with a small and pretty blonde on his arms.
She’s wearing a stunning sapphire blue dress that hugs her in all the right places and shows off her cleavage in a classy way. She looks sophisticated and chic. Her pale blonde hair hangs in waves to her shoulders and there’s lust in her eyes when she looks up at my brother.
My jaw practically touches the floor.
“You brought a date?”
Gio doesn’t date. He fucks around, sure. But I’ve never actually seen him bring a woman to meet our family. A glance at Gian shows he is equally as shocked.
“Annie,” he says, “Please meet my sister Gemma and my brother Gian.”
“She’s real?” I gasp, shaking her hands. “I’m not imagining this?”
“Ha-ha.” Gio deadpans.
Gian chuckles. “You’ll have to excuse us,” he says. “Our brother doesn’t bring women around often.”
“Or ever.” I clarify.
“You have a sec?” Gian asks.
“Yeah, Gemma keep her company, hmm?” Gio asks me.
“Sure,” I take Annie’s arm and lead her to the bar, happy to be away from them for a second.
I order us two dirty martinis and lean on the bar as I wait. “How long have you been dating my brother?” I ask with a smile.
“Uh...” she trails off. “A month.” She answers sheepishly.
“Wow, that’s crazy.”
I’m shocked that Gio has been in a fucking relationship and hasn’t said a word. I guess he’s been too busy preventing me from being with anyone to tell me about his new girl.
“What are they talking about?” Annie asks, looking to Gian and Gio.
“Probably business.” Or me. Most likely they’re talking about me. All of my mistakes, fuck ups, everything I’ve done this entire week.
She doesn’t respond, and I assume that means she knows what “business” actually means. I can’t be mad at the girl, she’s cute and charming. I can however, be mad at my brothers.
Annie is amazing, I learn over dinner. She’s sweet and thoughtful and laughs at all of my jokes. She’s kind, and she looks at my brother lovingly.
I excuse myself for a moment, going to the bathroom and locking myself in one of the stalls. I break one of my rules and let myself cry.
Gio has a great fucking girlfriend.
And I’m all alone.
“WE CAN’T FUCKING STAND FOR this.” Declan is pissed as he slams his fists down onto my father's desk.
