Swept Away in Wilde (Wilde, Nevada Beginnings 1)

“So you say Daniel was a handful. What about Craig and Dillon?” She asked. “I bet they were trouble.”
“They’re your husbands, child. You ought to know.”
They talked about everything while Austin slept. Mom started teasing her about being chased around the bed, and they both started laughing.
Austin stirred and started crying.
Mary saw her three husbands and three fathers-in-law rush in.
Dan placed his hand on her shoulder. “Is the baby all right? We heard a commotion.”
Mom smiled, gazing down at Austin, who was already drifting back to sleep. “We’re just fine, son.”
Dad Tom kissed Mom on the cheek. “Sweetheart, our grandson is something, isn’t he?”
“Yes, he is,” Mom answered.
Pappy Jack said, “He’s got Daniel’s eyes, darlin’. Your eyes.”
Mom grinned. “And Craig’s nose, sweetheart. Your nose.”
They all laughed.
Pop Will smiled. “But he’s a gorgeous baby, just like our daughter-in-law. Don’t you agree, honey?”
“He is beautiful, just like Mary.” Mom nodded.
With her own three husbands—Craig, Dan, and Dillon—standing behind her, she smiled. Hard to believe that a year ago she’d felt so alone. Lost and afraid, she’d run. Thankfully, she’d found her way to Wilde. She looked at Austin. He had Dan’s eyes, Craig’s nose, and Dillon’s mouth. He looked like all of them.
I’m home. This is my family.
