“How about a hint?”

He shook his head. “Just sit tight, Mackenzie. Only a few more minutes.” He went back into the cabin and shut the door behind him.

Their cabin and ranch were no longer in jeopardy of being foreclosed on. Winters’s scheme of moving their loan from one fake company to another to fund illegal activities had been uncovered. The deed to the entire spread was free and clear.

She’d spent a week in the hospital by her brother’s bedside. Danielle had been unconscious when they found her in the other room Winters had chained her up in. Her injuries consisted of a broken arm and two black eyes. She’d been released from Elko’s hospital the next day. Mac prayed she would heal inside as quickly. The blank stare Danielle had left with troubled her.

Trent’s body was recovering nicely, but his mind would take a very long time to get back to normal after Winters’s torture in his basement.

She couldn’t help but shiver as she thought about what might’ve happened had Trent not found a way to free himself and knock Malcolm to the floor. Trent had never given up in all the time the fucker had tortured him. He’d fought against his bindings the whole time he’d been in Winters’s basement. When Winters had moved him to the cabin when the heat turned up, he thought Trent was no threat and didn’t bind him as tight as before. That mistake and Trent’s will had saved all of them. That and her twin cowboys’ quick actions and strength.

The cabin the asshole had taken them to was Sam Winters’s, his deceased brother’s.

Austin and the sheriff got a ton of evidence from the storage unit in Denver Trent had found. According to the FBI team, it would be incredibly helpful in bringing a case against the drug lords that were Winters’s bosses. Lester’s murder was still being pieced together. Best guess was he’d been sent to kill Winters for putting the cartel in jeopardy. Malcolm must’ve gotten the jump on the guy first and taken him out.

She prayed the law would prosecute the drug lords before they came looking for Trent.

In the morning, Wyatt promised to take her back to Trent’s room. Too bad the Wilde hospital that Charly was having built wasn’t finished yet. Dr. Alex Champion was leading the effort and working with the architects. His brother Brandon was the acting attorney on the project. Once completed, Alex would be the chief of staff of the new facility and Brandon would assume lead counsel. Their brother Justin wasn’t involved at all. Apparently, the Champion family had to bail him out of several close calls, so they kept him at arm’s length of late. The trip to Elko wasn’t far, but it wasn’t as close as she’d like it to be. She wouldn’t have left either if her brother and her two cowboys hadn’t ganged up on her.

“Go back to Wilde, sis,” Trent had demanded. “I can’t sleep with you hovering over me like a nursemaid.”

She’d reluctantly acquiesced with the promise of returning the next day. He still wouldn’t talk to her or to anyone, including the local shrink, about what had happened. He needed time, a lot of time.

It felt good to be back in the Masterses’ cabin, back in Wilde. This was her home now. Wyatt and Wade were her family. Without asking, Wyatt had moved all her stuff out of her apartment and into their house. She had to admit the poly life fit her like a glove. She couldn’t imagine a life without Wyatt and Wade in it. For the first time, she understood her pappy’s relationship with Doris and May. A heart’s capacity to love was beyond what most believed possible.

The door opened and Wade and Wyatt came out. They were wearing Dom attire, all black and all leather. They looked crazy sexy.

Wade smiled. “Ready for your surprise, sub?”

“Yes, Sir.” Her heart sped up in her chest.

“Time for your next lesson,” he said. “It’s about spanking.”

Mac was a nervous wreck. Her cowboys looked at her hungrily. That wasn’t what worried her. Seeing their eyes filled with determination and knowing they’d been waiting to show her what their lifestyle was really about made her uneasy. They’d helped her dip her toe in the D/s waters, but only a little. She wasn’t sure she could meet their expectations.

Was it too late to run? Way too late. They weren’t the only ones that had been waiting for this night. She had, too, with all her heart. And who better to show her the way? Their patience, their protectiveness, their love, had sealed her heart to them forever.

“Slow down, bro. Don’t ruin our surprise.” Wyatt held out his hand, and she placed it in his. “You get to see the dungeon we created for you. It’s all set up just with you in mind.”

“I can’t wait.”

“What state are you in, love?” he asked.

That was easy. “Green, Sirs. I’m totally green.”

Wyatt threw her over his shoulder and headed inside. Wade followed. Just thinking about the pleasure to come shot a shiver up and down her spine.

When they came to the door of the new dungeon, which had been Wade’s bedroom earlier today, Wyatt lowered her to her feet.

“Aren’t we going in, Wyatt?” She could hear a familiar crushing guitar riff from the other side of the door. Metallica was Trent’s favorite heavy metal band, and he had played this particular song of theirs—“Master of Puppets”—over and over in his room, full blast when they were teenagers. She’d come to appreciate the thrashing sound, though she’d never admitted that to her brother.

She was curious what her Doms had done in the room. The wooden door was a portal to her surprise.

When Wyatt didn’t answer, she turned to him. His eyes told her volumes. His politeness was away on holiday, and in its place was a dominance that filled her with awe and suddenly gave her a bad case of cold feet.

She looked over at Wade and saw the same hunger and dauntlessness in his stare. Doubt scratched at her. “Guys, maybe we should pause and—”

Wyatt grabbed her hair and tugged.
