“Dylan Strange was in and out and now is back in again, or so I’m told.” Mac smiled. “I did find out that he’s married now, and you know what that means.”

“What?” Harry asked.

“He’s even better than before.” Mac pointed to her husbands. “Just like my guys.”

Lance nodded. “A woman does that for a man.”

“That’s for sure.” Chuck turned his gaze back to Danielle, the love of his life.

“Or a man for a man,” Michael added. “Right?”

“Absolutely. Your wedding will be the event of the summer. Everyone in town will be there.”

Harry grinned. “We actually have to have two weddings. The legal one is in Tahoma, California, which is right on Lake Tahoe near Michael’s vacation home.”

“It’s not Michael’s place, Harry. It’s our place. Everything that is mine is yours. You know that. Too bad Nevada hasn’t caught up with the times yet. The real wedding will be here, in Wilde, with our friends and family.”

Chuck looked at Lance. “I think that’s our cue, buddy.”

“Yes, it is.”

Chuck cleared his throat. “May I have everyone’s attention, please?” As everyone turned to him, the only person in the room that held his was Danielle. God, she was so beautiful. “Come over here, sweetheart.”

She smiled, though her eyes questioned what was going on.

He and Lance led her to the stairs, asking her to step up on the first rung. They wanted everyone to see their gorgeous woman.

“What’s this about?” she asked.

“On three,” Lance said to him, and they both counted in unison. “One. Two. Three.”

They both got down on one knee and grabbed one of Danielle’s hands.

Her cheeks turned a bright pink and tears welled in her eyes. “Oh my God. This isn’t what I think it is, is it?”

“If you think this is something other than a marriage proposal, then you’re mistaken, because it is,” Lance teased, and then turned serious. “I love you, Danielle. My whole life I’ve been looking for you even when I didn’t know it. You are everything to me. You challenge me. You make me want to be a better man. If you’ll have me, I promise to spend the rest of my life doing my best to deserve you. Will you marry me?”

“Yes. I will.”

Chuck squeezed her hand. “I love you, sweetheart. Everything in my life changed when I met you and you spilled the iced tea on me at the diner.”

She grinned and everyone chuckled.

“Immediately, I knew there was something special about you. Your sass, your laughter, your smile, and later I discovered how caring you are. Your heart is bigger than any I’ve ever known. Please make me the happiest man on the planet and marry me?”

“Yes. Yes. Yes.” She kissed him and then kissed Lance. “I love you so very much.”

The crowd cheered, and he knew that life had only just begun for him, Lance, and their new amazing bride-to-be.

The future had never looked brighter, a future in Wilde, Nevada, his new hometown.
