Denver opened the driver’s door of the truck and pulled her up into his arms. “Sweetheart, are you okay?”
She opened her mouth to answer, but then fell into a fit of tears. She leaned her head into his chest as he carried her into his home.
Denver placed her on his sofa and covered her in a blanket.
“Drink, darlin’.” Jackson handed her a tequila shot. “I promise it’ll help calm your nerves.”
“I’m going to kill the bastard.” Dallas pounded the wall with his fists.
“No,” she said shakily. “It’s not Austin’s fault. It’s no one’s.” She downed the tequila.
Jackson poured her another one, and handed it to her.
After the third shot, she did feel a bit better.
Denver sat down beside her and pulled her up in his lap. “Tell us everything, Jessie.”
Little by little, she told them what had happened. The week had been amazing. Austin had helped her feel things she didn’t even know were possible. For whatever reason, he didn’t have feelings for her.
“How do you know for sure?” Denver asked, rocking her in his arms.
Her insides froze. “He did everything but fuck my pussy with his dick.”
“Austin’s an asshole,” Phoenix growled.

“Turn around,” she finished for him. “We all did. It’s no one’s fault. Chemistry is to blame. That’s all. Unfortunately, Austin’s doesn’t mesh with mine.”
“Fine. We tried. It didn’t work.” Dallas huffed. “Time for us to build a life together.”
She shook her head. “No. It’s not.”
“What do you mean, sweetheart?” Denver asked.
“I can’t do this. I love you all. But I can’t come between you and Austin. I won’t.”
Denver cupped her chin. “You haven’t, love. He’s made his choice.”
“But there might be another woman who would have something that appealed to him. Then you could have—”
“Shh.” Denver placed his index finger on her lips. “Poor baby. You’re carrying way too much on those tiny shoulders.”
“Angel, you’re the only woman for me.” Phoenix’s gaze trapped her eyes.
Jackson stepped closer. “I love you. You know that, right?”
“Yes, and I love you, too. But is that enough? I can’t break up a family.”
Dallas grabbed her hand. “You haven’t. Actually, you’ve brought me even closer to my brothers. Austin has been a lone wolf ever since I can remember. I hate it, but that’s his doing.”
“Jessie, I love you with all my heart.” Denver’s lips feathered her ear. “We all do. We’re not letting you go. No matter what.”
“Tell her, bro,” Phoenix’s t
