Cam sent his dick deep in her ass in one final thrust and shouted, “Yes!”

She tightened as hard she could on him and Dylan, relishing in the feel of them inside her body. They kissed her while her body vibrated like a live wire and squeezed her between them. Gently, they lowered her back to the blanket, Dylan lying next to her in front and Cam behind. More kisses. More tingles, though they were slowly beginning to subside.

The darkness was gone, pushed back by the pleasure they’d given her. Maybe I could be the woman they deserve. Maybe I could have the dream of a life with them.

Dylan sat up. “That was quite a picnic.” He grabbed up her clothes. “I’ll help you, baby.”

“It is getting a little chilly,” she said.

Cam lifted her to her feet. She was glad, since standing on her own would be difficult. If Cam hadn’t been steadying her with his arm around her shoulder, she would have certainly fallen back to the blanket. This night had left her completely spent and satisfied.

Dylan held her panties. “I think I’ll keep these.” He winked and knelt down in front of her with her slacks. “Lift your leg for me.”

She did, and he helped her get her pants on. He stood up and put her bra back on her. Her head was spinning. She was a little dizzy still. What a night.

Dylan stood up. “Almost done.” He lifted her top and brought it down over her head.

The moon disappeared. Dylan and Cam disappeared. Her sight was gone.

She was back in the park, the Russians grabbing her. She was helpless as they placed the hood over her head and shoved her into the trunk. Lost to her terror, she felt another memory, an ancient memory, clawing its way to the surface out of her soul. She’d buried it there when she was just a teenager. Her bones chilled as the face of the man appeared in front of her—the one who inhabited all her nightmares.

She screamed at the demon inside her. “No! Don’t touch me!”

Panicking, she fought with the shirt, pulling it down until her sight finally returned.

Dylan stepped back, raising his hands to the sky. “I tried, Cam. You know I did. It just didn’t work.” He grabbed his clothes and walked away.

What had she done? Her broken mind was going to cost her Dylan. She had to stop him, to explain to him how troubled she really was. She couldn’t let him think she was afraid of him.

“Dylan, please wait,” she called to him.

He stopped but didn’t turn around.

Say something. Anything. What?

Silence had been her constant companion for so long, and once again words remained behind her quivering lips.

Erica burst into tears as she watched him walk to his car.

Chapter Eleven

Cam held Erica, who was sobbing so hard it was crushing his heart.

Dylan was gone.

He wasn’t sure what had happened when they were dressing her. Everything had been going the way he wanted up until then. Dylan was on board. Erica was surrendering with every shiver. He could see both of them coming around. The future had never looked brighter to him. But something had happened to Erica. What? Dylan had vanished. He couldn’t really blame him. He was the one who’d been dressing her when she’d gone out of her head.

He’d pushed her too hard. Dylan, too. This was his fault alone. He wanted to go get his brother back, make him stay. But Erica was a mess. Maybe she needed to cry out whatever weight she was carrying. Maybe Dylan was right to leave. He just didn’t know.

Cam held her until her sobs turned to whimpers. She was clothed. He was still naked. He didn’t care. He wanted her trust, wanted her to tell him what had shaken her so hard. He had to know. Was it the abduction? The shooting at TBK? She was strong. Very strong. This just didn’t seem like her.

“I’m o–okay, now,” she whispered. “I’m sorry.”

“You have nothing to be sorry about, sweetheart.” Cam cradled her chin, watching her quivering lips. “Talk to me. What happened?”

The woman he loved was hurting, and he didn’t know how to fix it. He’d never felt so helpless before in his life.
