Wild Collision (Us 4) - Page 102

A worried look crosses my face and she frowns. She steps up to me, placing her hands on my chest.

“It’ll be fine,” she tells me for the hundredth time. “We’ll tell him soon.”

Soon. Such an ambiguous word. Soon could mean tomorrow or it could mean next fucking month.

I nod.

“I still can’t believe he invited you guys to our house for Thanksgiving—that shows he likes you. I would’ve thought you all would’ve headed back home,” she remarks.

I shake my head. “Too much work to do.”

People don’t realize how much work goes into creating an album. It’s constant recording, re-recording, tweaking, changing, ditching songs and writing new ones only to start the whole process over again.

But it’s worth it.

My phone buzzes in my pocket.

I pull it out, looking at the screen. “Cannon’s here.”

“Showtime.” She smiles at me. With one look, she tries to convey that everything will be fine.

This is new for me, this nervous feeling. Normally I can’t be bothered or worried about impressing someone. It’s not like I don’t know her dad, I spend more time with him than I do her, and I’ve met her mom, her siblings, and yet here I am, still completely on edge.

I follow her out of her apartment as she locks the door behind us. Cannon’s pulled up right outside the curb and we hop in. Fox sits in the front with Rush stuffed in the third row.

“I can’t believe I’m stuck back here,” he grumbles. “I have long legs and my dick can’t breathe.”

Mia snorts as she buckles her seatbelt. “I can’t believe you haven’t named your dick.”

“Oh I have. His name is Crush. It rhymes with Rush and everyone who lays eyes on him ends up with a crush.”

Mia laughs harder as Cannon pulls into traffic. “Need I remind you I’ve seen Crush and I don’t have a crush on him?”

“Yeah, but you only saw him in passing. Not up close and personal. You’d change your mind if you saw him in all his glory.”

“You have a framed picture of Crush somewhere don’t you?”

“Of course, I take it out every night and tell him what a pretty boy he is.”

“The picture or your actual penis?” she asks.

“Both—can’t have either getting jealous.”

“Can we stop talking about Rush’s dick,” I grumble.

“You only want me to shut up because you’re jealous, man. I can’t help it I have an A-plus cock.”

I slap my hands over my ears. “Enough,” I mutter.

Mia, who’s no help at all, snickers at my expense.

“That’s enough, guys,” Cannon speaks up.

I lower my hands. “Thanks, Dad.”

Cannon sighs and mumbles something about not being a dad.

He’s so a dad.
