Wicked Sinner (Dangerous Love 2)

The heat didn’t seem to quit. Sweat dripped down Remy’s back as much as it had earlier this evening when Peyton and Boone became husband and wife. The trip to the tropics had been six days of pure bliss and relaxation, but today had been all about Peyton and Boone and their love. They’d been married on the beach at sunset, had a private dinner with just the six of them, plus Hank, and then Boone and Peyton returned to their honeymoon suite, while Asher and Remy strode the beach, the sand squishing between her toes.
“What if we never go home?” Asher asked as the waves crashed up on the rocky shoreline.
She hugged his arm and leaned into him. “I’d lose my shop. You’d lose your job. And we’d never see our lifelong friends again.”
“Shit. Good point.” Asher chuckled and winked. “This has been nice, though. We need to do this vacation thing more often.”
“Definitely.” Over the past five months, everyone kept wondering if Joaquin would make contact again, considering his unusual behavior in the end, but he never did. And Lars was in jail. Life had returned to easy days filled with love and happiness and everything in between. “You know, I really hate to disappoint you, but taking another vacation might soon be hard for us.”
With the moonlight shining down on them, Asher stopped and glanced at her, brows drawn together. “Why is that?”
“Well…” She took his hand and placed it on her belly, giving him a smile she hoped answered his question.
His head cocked and eyes searched hers for a long moment. “Are you…?”
“Pregnant?” She smiled, tears filling her eyes. “I am.”
He kept one hand on her belly, with the other he cupped her face. “But you’ve been drinking this week?”
“No, you thought I was drinking this week,” she countered. “I’ve been ordering virgins all week.”
It felt like he stared at her for another full minute before he asked, “How long have you known?”
The breeze rushed by, a blessed break in the heat. “I took the test the first day we got here.”
His expression was in full detective mode, revealing nothing. “Why didn’t you say anything?”
“Because it was really early when I took the test. I didn’t want to say anything until I took the test again.” She moved a little closer, feeling the warm pull Asher exuded. “But this morning, I took another test.”
“Shit,” Asher exclaimed, grabbing her and lifting her up and swinging her around. “A baby.” He grinned, full of manly pride before he dropped to his knee and kissed her tummy. “Our baby.”
Remy smiled, happy tears in her eyes. She slid her hands in his hair, holding him close when he hugged her belly. “Our family.”
He eventually rose and gathered her in his arms. “Our family.” He scooped her up in his arms. “Damn. Let’s get back to the room. I’m going to show you just how happy I am.”
She laughed, dropping a kiss on his neck, shivering at his low moan.
When they reached the path lit by lights, he let her back down on her feet. They walked along the path of lush tropical forest until they reached the block of rooms. Heading down the hallway toward their room, Remy quickly realized they weren’t alone. “Am I seeing this?” she whispered, freezing on the spot.
“You are,” Asher managed. “What. The. Fuck.”
What they were seeing was Kinsley and Rhett going at it. Hard-core. Rhett had Kinsley pressed against the wall, nearly ripping at each other’s clothes, kissing each other like they’d been starved of each other’s flesh. Kinsley managed to get Rhett’s shirt off right as he opened his suite’s door and then the door slammed shut behind them.
Sure, Remy hoped that maybe Rhett and Kinsley would get together one day, but she certainly wasn’t expecting it to ever happen. Or happen like this. She slowly glanced at Asher. “Are we ever going to talk about what we just saw?” she asked him in a whisper.
Asher barked a loud laugh. “No. Never.”
“Is Boone going to kill them?” Remy cringed.
Asher glanced down at her and grinned. “Yup.”
