As Luck Would Have It - Page 22

Without thinking, because all he wanted to do was kiss her, he leaned forward and captured her lips. With his cock softening inside of her, and their tongues pressing back and forth against each other, he let a contented sigh leave him.

He leaned back an inch. “God, Felicity. I love you.” He pulled out of her with a grunt of disappointment, and collapsed on the bed beside her. Hawk immediately pulled her in so her chest was pressed to his. She was soft where he was hard. He liked her curves, loved that she had even more now after having their baby.

“I love you, too,” she whispered softly.

He leaned down and kissed her on the head. “I’m happy. You make me so fucking happy.” The sound of the baby crying came through the walls, and he went to get up before she could. “Rest, baby. I’ll get him.”

He kissed her on the forehead once more before grabbing his sweats and putting them on quickly. Hawk went into their child’s room and saw Jacob standing up, his little face red and tears streaming down his cheeks.

“Hey, little one,” he said softly and got Jacob, who had his arms outstretched to be picked up. He brought Jacob back into the bedroom where Felicity was and smiled, loving the sight of his wife sprawled out in their bed, her hair mussed, a sleepy look on her face. She’d since put a robe on, but the glow from what they’d just done, from them just being together, still covered her.

Jacob started crying softly when he saw Felicity and she smiled and reached out for him. Hawk sat on the edge of the bed and handed the baby to his mother. Felicity started to gently hum, instantly soothing their child. It was only a few moments before Jacob fell back asleep.

Hawk put his arm around Felicity, keeping both of them close. She placed her hand lightly on Jacob’s back, tickling him softly as he slept. And then she looked at Hawk and smiled right before she leaned over and kissed him.

“Thank you for being such an incredible husband and a devoted father,” she whispered. “I love you.”

God, he was such a lucky man. “Thank you for loving me, baby. Thank you for not giving up on us, on the life we have built. I love you, too. So much.”

He pulled her in close and she settled against his chest. He inhaled deeply, smelling the shampoo in her hair and the faint baby lotion that was on Jacob.

Contentment.

Happiness.

Love.

“Mine, baby,” he murmured.

He pulled Felicity in close, loving that she held their son to her chest, that he could keep them both right here with him.

Hawk closed his eyes, knowing he’d never love anything more than the two people beside him. He had a family, he had the combined business he ran with Rebecca and Felicity, and he had the love of a good woman.

He had it all.

They were his world now, and damn, was it a good life.
