Beautifully Broken

Gavin clears his throat and walks me to the door. He opens it and gives me a sad smile. “Have a good day, Miss Kennedy.”
“You too, Mr. Cooper.”
As I’m rushing to Spanish class, I can’t help but think how hard it’s going to be keeping things professional after that. I’ll never look at that desk the same way again.
“KAT, LOOK! THERE HE IS!” Bree says excitedly.
I turn my head in the direction she’s pointing. “Who?”
“Eyes on me!” she scolds. “Don’t be so obvious! He’ll know we’re talking about him.”
“And how am I supposed to know who we’re talking a
bout when you won’t let me look?”
She bites into a French fry. “Mr. Cooper! He’s on lunch duty today. Damn, he is sooo hawt! I’d do him in a second.”
Oh, shit. I squirm in my seat as memories of being bent over Gavin’s desk flood my head.
“Who are you trying to sink your claws into now, Bree?” Dylan slides onto the bench next to me, puts his arm around my shoulder and pulls me into a side hug. “Hey, Kitty Kat. Why are you so flushed?”
Damn it! “Uh, I’m hot. It’s really hot in here. Don’t ya think?”
He leans in to whisper in my ear. “Admit it; you’re just thinking about how much you want my giant cock, aren’t you? I’d be more than happy to help you out with that, you know.”
“Holy shit!” Bree whisper shouts. “He’s looking right over here! Why does he look like he’s about to murder someone? God, that makes him even hotter! It totally gives him a bad boy vibe.”
I don’t need to turn around to know the look Bree is seeing. I can feel it and it’s directed right at me. Or more probably, Dylan. I shrug him off so Gavin doesn’t get the wrong impression. Not that it matters, I remind myself. You know, since nothing can happen between us again.
Dylan looks behind him and scrunches his face in concentration. “Who the hell are we talking about?”
Bree fans her face dramatically. “Mr. Cooper.”
“Gross, Bree,” he says. “He’s a teacher. And an old man.”
“He’s not that old,” Bree scoffs. “Thirty tops. I’d still fuck him in a heartbeat.”
Twenty-six, actually. And so would I. I bite my lip before I accidentally vocalize my thoughts.
“You’re such a little slut,” he says.
Bree rolls her eyes. “Oh, puh-leez. We all know that the last thing any of us should be doing is slut-shaming. Especially you, Dylan. There’s nothing wrong with having a healthy sexual appetite.”
Dylan pulls me back into him. “I agree with you there. Right, Kat?” He leans into my ear again. “I know that look in your eyes. You want to take me up on my offer from earlier, don’t you?” He places his hand on my thigh, making me flinch. “C’mon, baby. I officially broke up with Brittany last night. I know how you feel about cheating but that’s no longer an issue. I bet if I slid my fingers up that short little dress of yours, I’d find you soaked. Wouldn’t I?”
I scoot away from him. “Don’t be a pig, Dylan.”
“Miss Kennedy,” Gavin growls. “Is there a problem?”
“Shit!” I yelp.
Gavin crosses his arms over his chest. “Is there a problem here, Miss Kennedy? Is Mr. Taylor bothering you?”
Dylan laughs. “No problem, Teach. Kitty and I were just playing around.”
Gavin raises an eyebrow. “Kitty?”
Dylan gives me a shoulder squeeze. “Yeah, my little Kitty Kat. We were just goofing around. No problem here.”
