Sugar Baby Beautiful - Page 72

“Felicity! Don’t be a pussy!”

“As a female with a pussy, I resent that.”

“What?” he shouted.

“I said as a woman with a pussy, I resent that!” I screamed at the top of my lungs.

He laughed. “I can’t believe you just yelled that.”

Opening my eyes, I scowled at him even though he couldn’t see me before turning my head. It was only then I noticed how perfect the scenery was. The trees lined either side of the road, passing in blurs of green. It felt like we were gliding, flying right through them. I dared to stick one hand out.

“Still scared?” he yelled back.

“No.” I shook my head even though he couldn’t see me. I wasn’t scared anymore. He had this ability to make all my fears seem small.

Resting my chin on his shoulder, I looked forward. He was right. It didn’t matter where we were going. The journey was breathtaking.

“You’re one of a kind, Theodore Darcy,” I whispered more to myself than him.

“What?” He turned his head slightly.

“Nothing. Focus on the road!”

“I swear you were talking about me!”

“You’re paranoid,” I lied, smiling.

My heart wasn’t listening to me anymore. It was like it no longer belonged to me.

I had to get this under control.

CHAPTER FOURTEEN

It’s Not Over

Felicity

9:19 p.m.

We were back in Los Angeles.

Neither of us spoke as he drove me home.

I couldn’t bring myself to look at him. I stared through the window, part of me missing the trees of North Carolina, trying not to think of how we’d both spent the last two days in bed. I think he knew by then I wasn’t going to be his for much longer. He tried to get closer to me emotionally again, but I didn’t budge despite the fact that some part of me wanted to. So instead he buried himself inside of me. Sometimes it felt like he was taking out his frustration with me on my body. Other times, when he was gentle with me, it felt like he was asking me why. Angry and rough or calm and gentle, they both felt amazing in different ways. He had ruined me for anyone else. When I closed my eyes, it was his face I saw. His green eyes, his unruly black hair, and that wicked smirk on his face. Wherever I touched myself, I remembered his hands and how they’d gripped me so tightly I was sure you could lift his fingerprints right off my skin. I now knew every line on his chest, down each of his abs to the V at his waist.

“Felicity.”

Blinking, I turned to him. He wouldn’t look at me either. “Yeah.”

“This is your address.”

I glanced at the building. I hadn’t realized he’d parked. How long had I been staring into nothing?

“No—” I said when he took off his seat belt, most likely to open the door for me. I undid mine instead.

He paused only a second before doing it anyway. For some reason I waited, only stepping out when he held out his hand and helped me outside. I grabbed my things from the back, not sure what else I could possibly say.

“Do you need help?” he asked.
