Don't Forget Me (An Unforgettable Romance)

"Well, I'm impressed it still fits, considering I've been feeding you nothing but junk food for two months. I really should learn how to cook."
I chuckle. "Eh, we'll get to it one day. Maybe we could take cooking lessons or something."
Sienna smiles. "Maybe." There's a twinkle in her eye.
"What?" I say.
"Nothing," she says.
"All right. Should we go?"
She nods. "Yeah, we have to be at town hall in 30 minutes."
Soon enough, we're walking back down the steps of town hall, marriage license signed, a wedding photographer snapping our picture. That was the one thing Sienna wanted to splurge on, someone to document our special day. And I was more than happy to oblige with that.
I kiss her lavishly and she kisses me back. The wedding photographer asks us to go to a park a few blocks away and so we hold hands as we walk, the photographer a few steps behind us snapping pictures the entire time.
"I can't believe we really did it," she says.
"Really?" I grin. "I thought you were pretty committed to this relationship."
She laughs. "No, I don't mean it like that, I just mean, I don't know, going to town hall and really saying I do. It just feels so monumental."
"It is. It is kind of forever. No regrets?"
She shakes her head. "None at all." She looks down at the ring on her finger. "I still can't believe you bought me this diamond. It's ridiculous."
"Yeah, well, I kind of fucking love you, in a million different ways."
She shakes her head. "It's too much. I mean, this is way too many carats."
"You deserve the world, Sienna. The whole fucking world."
"I know, but... "
"There are no buts. I worked hard so I could do this one day, so I could treat my wife the way she deserves to be treated, so don't say it's too much." I kiss her softly, and I swear, the photographer is oohing and aahing in the background, swooning.
I laugh, embarrassed, ready to get my bride home and away from the flashing light. Thankfully, the photographer is done.
By the time Sienna and I are driving back to the cabin, I finally can breathe.
"You really hated having your picture taken, huh?"
"I don't know, it's just, I prefer living, being, in the woods alone."
"Well, I hope you don't mind having company."
I frown. "Of course I don't. I love having you."
"I know, but more than me, I guess."
"What do you mean? Did you invite some people over?"
She shakes her head. "No, I mean like permanent people."
"Like a permanent house guest?" I ask, trying to catch on.
"Well," she swallows. I've parked the car and she's unbuckled. "Remember last time we were in this exact same parking spot, unbuckled in front of the cabin? Like two months ago? It was kind of when we had a really important conversation?"
I nod, remembering. "Yeah. It's when I told you I wanted you to move in and marry me. Be my person, my forever."
"Right. Well, I have something big to talk to you about too."
"Should I be worried?"
She shakes her head. "I hope not." She bites her bottom lip. "The thing is, um, I know you like your solitude and your space and..."
"What are you getting at, Sienna? You're freaking me out."
"No, no." She reaches for my hands, squeezing them. "I'm just saying, well, it's not going to be very quiet out here anymore because, well, we're having a baby."
She looks so worried, my heart nearly breaks. "Sienna," I say, grinning. "Fuck, are you kidding me?"
She shakes her head. "No. You're okay with this?"
"Am I okay with this? Baby," I cup her cheek. "Baby, this is all I want. For us to have a family, to be together." I kiss her slowly, softly. "Baby, you were really worried?"
"I don't know, I just... It's a lot of change and I didn't..."
"Sienna. I don't care what happens. As long as it's us together, I'm excited about it. We got this. We can do anything. And a baby? It's your dream. It's our dream coming true."
She laughs. "Okay, I was a little nervous. I don't know why. I've just been emotional and..."
I get out of the car and I walk around, opening her door, and then I carry my bride inside. "Stop worrying," I tell her, unzipping her dress, taking it off of her, undressing my bride. I strip out of my clothes too. "Get in this bed, Sienna. Stop your worrying and let me take care of you the way you deserve. Let me take care of you the way you need."
