Shit, that wasn’t like Stitch. Despite his youth and sometimes over-eagerness, he was as solid as they came. “My bad, Reed. But fuck, I expected them to be on their way back here by now.”

Reed fell silent. I had to remind myself he wasn’t part of the MC and was probably freaking out right now.

“I know he’s been seeing a girl in Reno, Cross, but all I know is that her name’s Marisol. I wish I could be more helpful.”

“That’s a good start, Reed. I need to find my men first but I want to make this deal happen. Do you think you might find your way down near Mayhem anytime soon?”

“I’ll let y

ou know. And please, let me know when you hear from Chris.”

“Will do, man. Thanks.” I ended the call and a string of profanities ran through my mind, enough that it would’ve made Moon blush. “Fuck!”

“Tell me what’s wrong.” Moon’s soft voice was right by my ear, her tits pressed against my back as she wrapped her arms around my waist.

“It’s Gunnar and—”

“Mama, Aunt Rocky is here!” Beau was over the moon about all the new kids in his life. I thought it was because he got to be the older and wiser cousin but Moon believed it was just happiness at more friends to play with.

Rocky walked into the back yard, pink t-shirt falling off one shoulder while her cut-off shorts showed miles and miles of leg. Maisie held one hand and Dallas held the other, at least until he caught sight of Moon with all her colorful patterns and noisy jewelry. “Gunnar never showed up,” she said with an angry pout but I could see the lines of tension and fear around big green eyes.

“Yeah, something is up.” I didn’t know what, not yet, but I had a feeling it was nothing good. “Shit!” All I wanted was one full year with no drama. No bullshit. No more beefs. But that was too much to ask. I dialed Jag but I wasn’t surprised when he didn’t answer so I tried Savior next and informed him of our missing brothers.

“Shit. I’ll round up the guys. What else?”

“Rocky and Moon are with me so I’ll get them to the clubhouse but we need to check their places. Take one of the prospects with you to Gunnar’s and I’ll send Max to Stitch’s place.”

“Got it.” Savior ended the call and I let out a long, deep breath. The shit was happening again. If it wasn’t one thing, it was another. When I looked up, Moon and Rocky had worried looks while Beau had taken the other kids away to play. “We don’t know anything yet, ladies except no one has heard from them or seen them since early yesterday.”

Rocky moaned. “Fuck. Another lockdown? If you guys keep this up, I’m going to have to start grocery shopping for the clubhouse because your food choices suck.” That was a fair complaint and I responded with a shrug.

“Don’t worry, we’re gonna eat first and then pack. Then go.” Meal time with Moon and Beau was one of my favorite parts of the day. As long as all the women were safe, I could relax. A little.

Long enough to eat anyway.

But eventually meal time ended and it was time to get serious again. The clubhouse was abuzz with activity when I escorted Moon and Rocky through the doors, three kids in tow. It had taken us two hours to pack everything three small humans would need from their respective houses, and get us all over here, but now it was done.

“Sit tight girls and hopefully we’ll have some answers soon.” I didn’t believe it, though, and based on the sympathetic smile Moon sent me and the way her green eyes glittered with worry, I knew she was trying to help.

“We’ll be fine, Cross. Go take care of your guys.”

“Damn I love the hell out of you, my crazy little hippie.” I stole another kiss because when her sweet lips called to me, dared me to resist them? I failed.

Every fucking time.

“Good because I love you too. Now go.” She smacked my ass when I turned to walk away, pulling another laugh from me.

“I love you, now go? That’s a new one.”

That thick, husky laugh sounded again. “How else will I keep you on your toes?”

She didn’t need to do anything but be herself to keep me on my toes and she damn well knew it. Between her biting wit and odd sense of humor, there was never a dull moment with Moon around. “You’ll just have to be more creative,” I taunted before stepping inside Merry Mayhem and shutting the door behind me. All eyes were on me. All of the Reckless Bastards were gathered in this space, created just for us, and waiting for my instruction on how we would find our brothers. “Okay, what do we know?”

Max stood to give us the news, his expression grave. “Nothing for sure. Black and I went over to Stitch’s place and it was empty. Nothing was out of place or turned over so we assume they got on the road.” Max’s hands flexed and clenched tight, a sure sign that he was pissed the fuck off. It was a Max none of us had seen much of since he met Jana, but right now he was ready to tear someone’s head off.

“Well, that’s something.” I said. “Reed said something about a girl he was seeing, anyone know anything about that?”

Lex’s thick ginger hair fell over his eyes when he stood and he blew out a breath before he spoke. Worried? Pissed. Hard to tell. He said, “I know about her and that she lives in Reno but that’s about it. He never even said her name, but he did tell me she had tits like a Barbie and she fucked like a porn star.” Lex’s words drew a few knowing laughs from around the table because that sounded exactly like Stitch.
