"That’s what friends do.” My voice is trembling, and his lips brush mine. My hand moves from his chest to his face, my fingers running through his scruff. His tongue slips into my mouth as he walks into the house. He picks me up, and my legs wrap around his waist. He kisses me softly as he walks us back to his room. He doesn’t turn on the light, and only the moonlight comes in through the open windows. He sets me down, and I can see his face in the moonlight. Neither of us says anything, but our actions speak words we are both afraid to say. At least I am.
He slowly peels the shirt off me, his lips finding mine. We undress each other, each of us touching softly between kisses. My fingertips graze his chest when he moves to open his pants, and they fall to the floor. I walk over and get in the middle of the bed. He follows me and crawls over me. My legs open for him as he settles between them. He rubs his cock up and down my slit and then comes over to kiss me. His tongue slides into my mouth at the same time he slides into me. My hands move up his back, rubbing his shoulders and then down his arms.
Both of my hands are beside my head as he lets go of my mouth and links our fingers together as he slips out of me and then back into me. My eyes find his as his head rests on my forehead. Our chests rise and fall together as he takes us both over the edge.
The next morning, the sun hits my face, making me open my eyes. I close one eye and look over to see Cooper sleeping. His arm is on my stomach, I watch him, and I know we have to have a conversation. The thought makes my stomach flip over as I slowly slide out of bed, not wanting to wake him.
I look over to the bedside table, seeing that it’s just after seven. It’s even earlier than when we have the girls. I slip on a pair of panties and a long shirt. Walking downstairs, I get myself a cup of coffee. I open the back door and sit on the step, watching the water crash on the shore. Birds are chirping and flying over me.
The door opens behind me, and I feel him over me. He sits down behind me. "Why did you wake up so early?" he grumbles, and I look over my shoulder to see his eyes are still semi closed.
"I guess I just had a lot on my mind," I reply. For a split second, I think about pretending I’m okay, but this is Cooper. He would see right through me.
"And what is on your mind?" he asks, kissing my neck and laying his head on my shoulder.
"We need to talk about what’s going to happen when we get home." I see his eyes finding mine. My heart pounds in my chest, knowing there might be one answer to this, and that is not to be together. It’s something I need to prepare for, something I know will hurt me, but I also know it is something that might just have no choice but to happen.
"What do you mean, what’s going to happen when we get home?" he repeats what I just said, his eyes finding mine as he tries to figure out where this is going.
"This thing between us can ruin my career," I say, and he just looks at me. "How would it seem that we are together and I’m your agent? People can say that me being your agent could be a conflict of interest for them," I say, and I wish I could get up so I could pace back and forth while we have this conversation. "They can turn it and say I play favorites." I close my eyes, the realness making me sick to my stomach.
"Well, there is only one thing that we have to do," he responds as if it’s nothing and without skipping a beat. "You’re fired."
I shriek. "You can’t just do that?" I ask, shocked, my palms getting sticky and a lump forming in my throat.
"Oh, but I can," he confirms, getting up and looking down at me. "The last thing I will allow to happen is you getting hurt in all of this." He shakes his head. "There is no way in fucking hell that is going to happen," he huffs out and puts his hands on his hips. "So the only thing to do is to fire you." He turns and opens the back door. "Now, can we go back to bed?"
"Just like that." I put my hand up to my forehead as he shrugs.
