“Kaylee, wait!” Mia went after her and got into the living area just in time to see the door slide open, revealing Talon.

The tall Blood Kindred had on black leather trousers and tall black boots as usual. But he was shirtless tonight, showing a broad, bare chest. The only thing he wore above the waist was a black leather collar spiked with silver studs around his strong throat.

“Oh, Talon—you look perfect!” Kaylee exclaimed.

In response, Talon dropped to one knee. Looking up at his mate he murmured,

“I am glad that my beautiful Mistress is pleased.”

“Oh, are we starting the role playing early then?” Kaylee giggled and stroked her warrior’s rough cheek. “You may rise, bodyslave, but don’t think you won’t be back on your knees servicing me soon.”

Talon rose to tower over her, his eyes half-lidded with lust as he took her in.

“My Mistress’s wish is my command,” he growled softly, looking into Kaylee’s eyes. “It would be my very great pleasure to service her with my mouth before the night is through.”

At this point, Mia felt the need to clear her throat loudly, just to remind the two of them that she was still around. She felt sure that if she didn’t, they would start going for it right there in her doorway, oblivious to anyone who might be walking by.

“Oh, sorry…” Kaylee dragged her eyes reluctantly from the big Blood Kindred’s face and looked at Mia. “Uh, where’s Storn?” she asked, looking around. “I thought he was coming with you?”

“He’s on his way. He had trouble with the horns you gave him to wear,” Talon told her.

“Horns? Why would you need to give him horns when he already has some?” Mia asked, mystified.

Kaylee giggled.

“You’ll see—they’re part of his costume.”

“Well, what is his costume?” Mia asked. But just then, she saw the Satyr Kindred coming down the long, curving corridor towards them.

She had seen him many times by now—they’d spent most of the week together—but this time, Mia couldn’t help feeling shocked. As Storn got to them, she looked him up and down and exclaimed,

“Storn, where are your pants?”

The big Satyr Kindred frowned in apparent confusion.

“Is there a problem? I am not wearing trousers tonight because of my costume.”

“Your costume? What costume?” Mia asked. “You’re not wearing anything at all!” Well, except for this fur.

“Why…I am Mr. Tumnus, the faun from your beloved set of books, The Chronicles of Narnia,” Storn said. “Kaylee even gave me horns like his to wear—see?” He pointed to his head where two sharp little goat horns were poking straight up from the front of his forehead. “I had trouble gluing them on,” he added. “Do you think they’re straight?”

“They…they’re fine,” Mia managed to say, but she wasn’t looking at the fake horns. Instead, her eyes were helplessly roving over the big Satyr’s below-the-belt area, which she had never seen before.

Up until now, Storn had insisted on keeping the black trousers he always wore firmly in place—he had said he didn’t think she was ready to see him without them.

Clearly, tonight he thought she was ready.

“The horns are fine,” she said again. “I just don’t know about you leaving your pants off.”

Actually, he had left his shirt off too and his broad, muscular chest and strong shoulders were mouthwatering. But still, her eyes kept being drawn lower…much lower.

“I read the books and looked at the illustrations,” Storn said to her. “And Mr. Tumnus wore no trousers. He sometimes wore a scarf, I think, when the White Witch made it always Winter and never Christmas, but he never wore any other clothing.”

“It’s okay, Mia—really it is!” Kaylee said quickly. “I mean, it’s not like you can, uh, see anything.”

Which was perfectly true, to be honest, Mia thought as she looked at the Satyr Kindred. Because his…fur? Hair? She wasn’t sure what to call it, but it was dark brown and curled into soft-looking tufts and it covered him from his hips all the way down to his shiny black hooves.

Still, it was kind of shocking to see Storn without his trousers on for the first time. It sort of brought home the fact that he really and truly was from another universe—that he wasn’t just another type of man—he was another species of male altogether.

“Well? Are we ready to go to the party?” Kaylee chirped, breaking her train of thought.

“Maybe Mia and I should stay behind and talk for a moment,” Storn rumbled. “You and Talon go ahead—we’ll catch up with you.”

“Well, don’t take too long—not if you want a turn in the dungeon.” Kaylee winked at them and then grabbed Talon’s hand. “Come on, bodyslave—let’s go.”

“As my Mistress wishes,” the big Blood Kindred growled and the two of them walked off down the corridor, hand-in-hand, without looking back.

“Mia,” Storn said quietly. “Let’s go inside your suite for a moment and talk.”
