Seduction (Bayfront Billionaires)

Heat flashed through her. “Behave,” she said, a bit too breathless for him not to notice.
His cocky grin returned. “I don’t think that’s what you want at all, Lily.”
She swept her hands over his shoulders and down his arms to straighten the jacket and alleviate any wrinkles. Then moved around to the front of him again and slipped the buttons through their holes, willing her pulse to level out and her fingers to keep from trembling.
Christ, her entire body was about to turn into a quivering mess, she wanted him inside her that badly.
When she lifted her gaze to meet his, the seductive expression on his face told her he was all too aware of how he affected her.
But he had somewhere to be . . .
“You’re going to be late, remember?” she asked in a tone that was sultry even to her own ears.
“It’d be worth it.”
“It’s the Junior League. You don’t snub them—especially when they’re trying to help the homeless.”
He groaned. “Right. You just . . . distract me. Beyond all belief.” His gaze dropped to her mouth once more, then he seemed to realize that if he leaned in for even a brief kiss, they’d be going at it hot and heavy within seconds, to hell with the cocktail reception.
“Go,” she urged. Because she was this close to caving herself.
His jaw worked for a moment, then he said, “Tell Jax to meet me downstairs in five minutes.”
“Of course.” She headed to the door, but he called out before she left.
“Lily.”
She spun back around to face him. “Yes?”
“Those are the sweetest, softest lips I’ve ever tasted.” He grinned.
Butterflies rioted in her stomach. But she found the strength to say, “Change your shoes. You’ve scuffed the ones you’re wearing.”
Then she turned on her heels again and rushed out.
There just might have been some extra sway to her hips . . .
She hurried down the hall to Jax’s suite. Drew up short at the opened double-door entrance and knocked on one panel as she announced her presence.
Jax stuck his head around the corner of the bathroom. “Christ, Lily, you don’t have to knock. Just come in.”
She hesitated, recalling the last time he’d come around that very corner in nothing but a towel. And after her close encounter with Lex in his dressing room, she was feeling a little low on willpower and the ability to keep her hands to herself.
As though sensing this, Jax stepped into the huge archway and said, “Fully clothed. Bring me my jacket while I finish up, please.”
A sliver of disappointment over not having caught Jax in any stage of undress made her pout slightly, but then she reminded herself it was a good thing he was already in his suit pants and crisp white shirt.
She crossed the suite, gathering up his jacket from the rack outside the door to his dressing room, and entered the bathroom.
Jax was at the vanity running his fingers through his thick black hair, giving it a roguishly disheveled look that kept her clit tingling and her pussy pulsating. An insistently erratic beat that demanded to be sated.
But goddamn! What horrible timing on all their parts!
Catching her reflection in the mirror, Jax said, “I suppose I have you to thank for the new bottle of Hugo Boss?”
“You were nearly out so I had it sent over from one of the town square boutiques.” It was her favorite manufactured smell these days. While Lex forwent cologne in favor of all that sexy male heat he radiated, Jax preferred the more refined scent of Hugo Boss. She could close her eyes and inhale both aromas and probably orgasm from that alone.
But thoughts such as that didn’t help her plight any.
