“Hmm. Used to be a lot fuckin’ more of them until they carved out all that land for the mall,” Key said disgustedly. Alec wouldn’t have suspected a different answer from his always outside boyfriend.

“I didn’t see the mall. I saw a Target,” Alec said.

“Yeah, it’s a big shoppin’ center behind the Target. All the trees keep it from bein’ seen.”

“I like it out here.” Just beyond the trees Alec noticed a small clearing, giving way to a small warehouse style shop. As they approached, a light flashed on, brightening the area near the building.

“My mother’s parents owned this property. My uncle bought it from them. It was built in the seventies,” Key replied.

“Are they still alive?” Alec asked, coming to a stop at a side door that sat just to the left of the double overhead sliding door.

“Yeah, they live in Florida, I think.” Key took a set of keys from his pocket, working the series of locks on the side of the door. “I never met ’em.”

Many of the pieces of Key’s past had come together with Clyde’s short explanation of Key’s childhood. This fine man truly had so little to build off of. How Key had managed to become a good and fair man defied reason. A protectiveness grew inside Alec, something that made him want to reach out and wrap his arms tightly around Key and promise to never let anyone hurt him again. The only thing that stopped him was the fear Key would consider that pity. It wasn’t, not at all. Like everything else between them, these strong protectionary feelings were grounded in love.

Key pushed open the door and walked inside ahead of Alec. With the flick of a switch, overhead lights popped on, showing three bikes inside. Two were older and in pristine condition. One was the sexy black bike Key had been on the first night they’d met. There were also well-organized rows of tool boxes and tools and a table with engine parts scattered across the top.

“It’s my place I told you about,” Key said, going for the black street bike that had appeared in Alec’s fantasies a couple of times since their first meeting. “This is where I used to come to spend my free time before I met you.”

“Did you rebuild this?” Alec asked, walking to an older Harley, remembering what Clyde had said.

“Yeah.” Key’s voice softened, giving Alec a glimpse of the pride Key held in the craftsmanship of his rebuild. Alec ran a hand over the seat.

“It’s incredible.” It truly was.

“Wanna take a ride?” Key asked, moving toward him, helmet in hand. Alec took the helmet, reveling in so many of his dreams coming true so unexpectedly tonight. He watched Key roll the sleek black bike out the door before following him, trying to etch every single moment into his heart. He wanted to remember it all.

Key lifted his long hair, gathering it together to tie in a low ponytail. He tucked the ends in his jacket before zipping his jacket as far as it could go. The man was amazing. Just being here with him right now meant the world to Alec.

“Do I get on back?” he asked after Key straddled the bike. Those thick thighs evoked all kinds of ideas as Key patted the seat.

“Yeah.” If his tone wasn’t enough, Key smirked as if that were a given.

“I haven’t ridden on the back of a motorcycle before.” Alec rambled as he got situated, his nerves on edge, the adrenaline pumping through his veins had him all kinds of chatty. One thing for certain, he really liked Key’s warm body pressed between his thighs. Alec wanted to wrap his arms around his man too, barely restraining himself as he remembered Key’s freshly tattooed back. So, he sat back, keeping distance between them. “You aren’t wearing a helmet?”

“Most of the time on this bike and about half the time on the others. I know these roads like the back of my hand. I’m not gonna race anyone. Not tonight. I want you to wear one though.”

Alec wanted to disagree but didn’t. Instead, he just did as Key requested and shoved the helmet on his head. Key started the engine, let the bike rumble, and grabbed both of Alec’s thighs, pulling him tighter against his body.

“I don’t want to hurt your back.” Alec resisted the urge to grind himself on Key. It seemed all his fantasies were coming true and his body stirred, but he could behave. He’d get his when they got home tonight.

Key looked back over his shoulder and smiled, his teeth extra white in the bright moonlight. “You ain’t gonna hurt me. Ready?” he asked, squirming between Alec’s spread thighs as if to prove his point.

“Ready.” If Key kept rubbing up against him, he’d be ready to ride something other than the bike.
