“Not for me. I knew it would be that great.” Landon’s words came out in a sweet whisper.
“Let’s walk.” Robert encouraged him, gaining only a minuscule amount of space when he pulled away, but Landon wasn’t about to let Robert get too far from him. His lips still tingled from Robert’s kiss, and his head spun from the wonder of it all.
“Let’s go back to your place,” he countered. His voice sounded husky and needy, a true reflection of what Robert did to him. The doctor adjusted his hips, rubbing the thickness trapped behind those slacks against his equally hard cock. Oh, yeah, from what he could tell, Robert liked his idea a lot. “I didn’t know you were interested in anything other than a friendship with me.”
“I’m very interested,” Robert said and stepped back as blue eyes bored into his. “I want to do this right, Landon. At least explore what this is between us.”
Landon reached for Robert’s hand, almost giddy inside; he hadn’t had to make that move himself. It seemed important, something to help solidify the flood of emotions.
“All right. Let’s do this right.” Landon slid his hands down Robert’s back and over his firm ass. “I’ve wanted you since you showed up in my hospital room wearing those damn running shorts.” Oh, how he’d wanted the man. Landon ground against Robert. The hardness pressing into him sent another wave of intense desire racing through his already overheated system. “Your ass captures a lot of my attention.” He squeezed the sexy globes. “It’s so perfect.” Landon leaned in, nipped Robert’s earlobe. “And at some point, I’m gonna be balls deep inside you, Doc.” That was a promise he intended to keep.
“What’re you waiting for?” Robert’s words spurred him on. If they weren’t in a public area, he’d already be lost in the man. Robert made him so fucking hot that he wasn’t positive he could actually wait until they were home to have Robert’s naked body pressed against his. He grabbed Robert’s hand in his and tugged him forward.
They weren’t making it very far, very fast. Every twenty or so feet, either Landon or Robert had to stop to kiss the other. Keeping his hands off Robert proved much harder than he’d thought possible.
Yeah, nothing had changed with the way his brain kept pointing out that he didn’t have money or anything to offer such a fine man. Robert would wise up before too long, but Landon pushed those heavy thoughts away as Robert’s hand moved to the small of his back then around his waist to draw him back against the doctor’s perfect body. Refusing to let himself question what was happening, Landon worked to keep self-doubt at a distance and allowed himself to get lost in the moment.
The distance between the streetlights had increased the closer they got to Robert’s house, and the darkness worked to their advantage, hiding them from any bystanders as the kisses turned incendiary. He could no more help his hands roaming Robert’s body than he could help taking the kiss to the next level. Everything about Robert drew him in—the spicy scent of his cologne, the scruff of his five o’clock shadow scraping along his palms. He was already addicted to Robert’s touch as the doctor’s skilled hands pushed under the hem of his button-down. His body was on fire, consumed with need that only Robert Adams could relieve.
“I can’t wait to get you naked.” If they didn’t get somewhere quick, Landon was going to lose it.
Robert’s lips pressed to his one last time before he grabbed Landon’s hand and towed him down the neighborhood street.
At the base of the front porch steps, Robert leaned into him, plastering himself against Landon. As Landon started to take the invitation of those perfectly formed lips, Robert held up his hand as he drew back and stared directly into his eyes. “I want to do this right, Landon. I don’t want to mess it up. If it’s too much or you feel we’re going too fast, I want to know. Even if that means I need to leave for the night, then I will.”
Yeah, right. In what world did Robert believe Landon would ever let him go? He used a bit of force to tug Robert more fully against his chest. “You aren’t going anywhere, Doc.”
“Good. I was hoping you’d say that, and call me Robert,” he said, holding Landon’s stare.
“Robert,” he whispered, earning the kiss he’d been trying to get for the last several seconds.
Robert pulled away to enter a code into a keypad Landon hadn’t known was even there. A buzzing sound penetrated the hushed night, lasting only a fraction of a second before he heard the lock disengage and Robert brushed past him to push it open.
“That’s cool as shit,” he whispered. “Beats digging for a key.”
