The words hung there for a moment, in the nighttime silence. I turned them over a few times in my mind.

“Yes,” I said finally. “I am.”

Zane stopped walking. He squeezed my fingers between his, then pulled me against him.

“Good,” he said, bringing his lips to mine. “Because I don’t want anyone else…”

Forty-Two

SAVANNAH

A week went by, and then two. Both were busy, intense, incredible. And that was putting it mildly.

To describe it in other ways, they were absolutely euphoric. They were weeks filled with hope for my new future. Every day packed with hard work and long hours, as my ever-expanding business finally payed dividends.

And after that…

Well, my nights were even busier. Because it was after hours that I allowed myself to reap the rewards for all my hard labor. And that meant spending my evenings exactly as I wanted to: dividing my time between my three incredible lovers.

I saw Erik most nights of the week. Zane also. When we weren’t busy roaming the town and blowing off steam, we were back at their apartment drinking and laughing, sharing stories. Sometimes staying up late to eat popcorn and watch scary movies, before eventually collapsing to the floor in a pile of blankets and pillows and sex.

We screwed like rabbits, both together and alone. There were no boundaries. No jealousy. I slept in one bed or the other, but my favorite moments were waking up with both men spooning me from either side. That’s when I felt safest. Most secure. It’s also when I felt closest to them, creating ties that binded us in more intimate ways, even beyond the sex.

And the sex was incredible.

Roman was busier, caught between work and school. I saw him less, but it only made the time we did spend that much more special. I made a few trips to his off-campus apartment, including a weekend where I’d surprised him in his own bedroom. It hadn’t taken much to bribe one of his roommates to let me in, and when he got home that night he found me sprawled across his bed, stockings, garters, and not much else.

“Draw me first,” I’d told him, smiling up from my stomach. Slowly I scissored my legs a few times before crossing them at the ankles. “Then you can do anything you want to me.” I winked sultrily. “And I do mean anything.”

Less than an hour later, the resulting comic had totally blown me away. The detail was beyond amazing, if just short of pornographic. I ‘bought’ the piece off him with the sluttiest blowjob of my life. Paid for the sketch with my own body, which only made the ensuing sex hotter, dirtier, and that much more satisfying.

And then there were the rare times all three of us got together. Where work and school happened to line up perfectly for everyone, and somehow didn’t conflict with Zane’s late night tour schedule. Those were my favorite times, and not just for the more obvious reasons. Because as fun as hanging out with two of the guys always was, there was something magical about having three of them together. As a trio, their level of laughter and camaraderie bordered on brotherhood, and no matter how tough a day I might’ve had, the three of them could always make me smile.

Day by day, we grew closer as a unit. Night by night, I developed relationships with each of them. We forged personal, one-on-one connections. Did couple stuff together, each one feeling more real than any boyfriend I’d ever had.

And yet it was like having a fourth romance too; one with all of them, together. A group relationship. A special dynamic that formed when we were all in the same room, laughing and talking and relaxing as one happy… well…

Family?

Shit, it sure felt that way. Growing up the way I did, I’d never known a true family — not in the sense others had. And I could see it in Zane’s eyes too; he and I shared that common experience. That lonely, empty place in our hearts where the word ‘family’ should’ve always been.

I came to realize this was probably why Zane found Erik and Roman so appealing. He’d gone from constantly moving around to wanting to settle down. To finally committing to something as serious as sharing a place together, with friends he saw more as brothers.

And I had to admit, that part appealed to me too.

In a way, I was in the same boat. I was through running from my past life, and ready to set down roots. I had the place, and now I even had the means to support myself. And then…

Then the guys came along.

I’d broken my own rules. Let the fulfillment of a fantasy turn from a one-night stand into a full-blown, four-way relationship. And the longer it went on? The more I was okay with it. The more I normalized the entire thing in my head, even daring to dream that somehow, against all odds, it might never end.

All things considered, it should’ve been no surprise when the three of them came rolling into my shop on Halloween night. They were all dressed up, and each dressed differently. Before they could say anything, I burst out laughing.

“A gladiator?”

Erik raised his plastic sword, and banged on his plastic shield. I had to admit the rest of his costume was legit, though. From his eagle-crested breastplate to his leather-wrapped tunic, he looked totally fucking hot with his biceps and triceps bulging out.

“We’re all warriors,” he said, pounding a fist against his chest.
