“Did you enjoy it?” he whispered into my ear.

I stood there backed up against his desk, totally speechless. The desk where he’d taken me for the first time. The desk where he’d fucked me. Where he’d put his come all over my body…

Ever so slowly, I nodded.

“Good,” Lincoln murmured, nuzzling my neck. “I’m glad to hear you say that.”

Holy shit…

“Because next time, Holly? When we’re all together?”

He pulled back from me. Just enough to look directly into my eyes.

“Next time it might be all four of us.”

Twenty-Nine

HOLLY

I walked into work on shaky legs, and not because I’d been up since four o’clock looking at financial statements. Even after Lincoln had his driver graciously drop me off, I was still trembling from our conversation in his office.

‘Thanks, Ulrich.”

The driver smiled and tipped his hat as I emerged from the car. He waved a friendly goodbye before climbing back into the vehicle and speeding off.

Somehow I was able to make it to the elevators on my own.

All four of us together…

Lincoln’s words had spiked all new levels of adrenaline in my body. I felt like I did as a teenager, waiting in line for a thrill ride. Feeling my stomach drop out from under me as I glanced upward and saw what I was about to do.

It was still insane to me, how Lincoln’s reaction had been the complete opposite of what I expected. He’d been thrilled instead of angry. Actually turned on, instead of turned off. Any jealousy he felt was only the left out kind. And that could be easily remedied…

Damn, Holly. Is that what you want?

I’d thought about it a lot since it happened, and even more on the ride over. And yes, it was exactly what I wanted.

Holy shit…

I felt like the proverbial flood gates had been opened. As if, try as the four of us might, it was going to be impossible to put the genie back in the bottle.

And I didn’t want the genie back in the bottle.

Before I left his office, Lincoln had pointed out a few logistics of his own, too. Setting aside the sexual benefits of sharing me as one, it opened up all new avenues as far as seeing each other was concerned. No longer did we need to pick and schedule individual days. My boyfriends could double-date me. Triple-date me, if they really wanted to.

The very thought made my stomach do another somersault.

“I have a little place,” he’d said, “back in Maine. A vacation chalet I’ve wanted to take you away to, but school was always in the way.” He kissed me hotly one last time, on the way out the door. “Now that your finals are over, maybe the two of us could go. Or maybe we could all go,” he winked. “We’ll have to see.”

Right now I was standing before the garage elevators, still reeling from a thousand less-intrusive thoughts. Christmas was less than a week away, and though I was almost caught up with my shopping clients, I still had plenty to do. On a personal level, I’d been neglecting my family. My mother had called and left two messages. My brother had emailed me, asking my opinion on something.

Slow down, Holly!

I still had to RSVP for the company’s holiday party. Jocelyn wanted to meet for drinks. And on top of everything, I had a date with Brody tonight. Suddenly I had to wonder if he’d actually come solo. Or if he’d bring Donovan. Or Lincoln. Or even—

My attention was diverted by my peripheral vision. Off to my left, my car drove by again. Same driver, same blonde hair, same ponytail. Patricia, I’d learned her name was. Hey, I didn’t begrudge her. Except for the fact the bitch was driving my car, she actually seemed pretty nice.

This time my hand went over my mouth as I realized something was different.
