What Happens in Vegas - Page 79

I don’t know how long it went on. How long they kept me writhing between them, their hands roaming my body, their hard cocks plundering me from beneath and behind. I went delirious with pleasure. Yelled incoherently into the empty desert, until a strong, calloused hand clamped over my mouth to muffle my screams of bliss.

I came so hard I temporarily blacked out. I know this only because I was still coming when I regained my senses, my body still convulsing and contracting around the two hard lovers buried inside me. They held me even tighter after that, as the aftershocks of my orgasm sent my arms and legs trembling. Holding me and fucking me and then coming inside me together, somehow simultaneously, as if the orgasm of one lover had triggered the other.

They passed me around at will. Took turns fucking me and using me and making me their own. I screwed them back as best I could, until the air in the tent was thick with sex and come. Until every inch of my body was slick with a mixture of perspiration and excitement, and my hair was plastered against my face with pure adrenaline and sweat.

Sometime in the middle of the night I sat up, to find them slumbering around me. Each of them sated and deep in sleep, snoring blissfully as I rose and left the tent.

I pulled the blanket I’d taken with me tighter around my shoulders, as I made my way to the edge of the ridge. Everything below was inky darkness. Above us however, the sky was a billion, brilliant stars.

“You don’t see that in New York…”

I didn’t have to turn to know it was Mason. I could tell by the depth and resonance in his theater-trained voice.

“No,” I sighed happily. “You sure don’t.”

“Too much light pollution,” Mason went on. “Same for LA.”

He took my hand as he stared into the sky with me. Everything was silent. Even the wind had died.

“In the mountains upstate you can see most of this,” he said, “but not everything.” He sighed heavily. “When it comes to stargazing, nothing beats the desert.”

He squeezed my hand. I wanted to squeeze back, to fold myself into his arms and hold him one last time. But I was too deep in thought. Too contemplative.

“How the hell am I ever going to go back to my normal life?” I asked without thinking.

Mason continued to stare silently with me for a while, into the valley below.

“I don’t know,” he said at last. “Maybe you don’t.”

I turned to look at him. “What do you mean I don’t?”

“Maybe you stay a little longer,” he shrugged. “Or maybe—”

“My boss is already going to chew me a new asshole,” I jumped in, with a little more anger than was needed. “Trust me, I’m already fucked six ways to Sunday, the moment I get back.”

Mason looked back at me with his gorgeous, movie-star good looks and cocked his head. “Can I give you a little advice?”

He was so gorgeous it was distracting. I nodded slowly.

“You’re only as fucked as you allow yourself to be.”

I opened my mouth again, this time in indignation. I wanted to tell him he didn’t know Lilith. That he had no idea what I was in for, and that I had to take it on the chin or risk losing my job. I wanted to tell him he doesn’t pay my rent, or sign my paycheck, or even have a clue as to what it takes to make it in New York City. Only maybe he did. Maybe, having already done this in the two biggest cities on the east and west coasts, he knew better than any of us.

“You know you could stay,” another voice called out. I whirled, and Corey was standing there, huddled like a caterpillar in a sleeping bag. “You could come back to town with us. Help us take the next few steps toward our club, our place…”

His voice trailed off into nothingness, the words dying in the cool night air. Almost as if halfway through, he realized the selfishness of what he was asking.

“Oh sweetie,” I said, walking over to him. I laid one hand against the side of his stubbled face.

“If only I could…”

Forty-Nine

LAUREN

I left the elevator the same way I did every morning: chin up, hair swept back, last night’s work clenched tightly against my chest. I took the same route, through the same hallways. Ducked through the same two doorways, and passed the same long row of cubicles.

Three months…
