I fucked myself in your bed.
xx Carmen
I crumple the note and toss it along with her nasty ass underwear in the trash can. Crazy fucking bitch. She’s going to fuck this up with Melissa for me if I don’t put a stop to her ass right now. I change my clothes and head down to Hades’ office but he’s not in. I leave a note for him to call me. Carmen stepped in to fill MaryAnn’s place when Cupid claimed her, but she is gonna find her ass on a bus to Get Lostville real motherfucking soon. As I am coming down the hall she is coming out of the door to the basement. Soon as the cunt sees me, she fluffs her hair and sticks her tits out. I roll my eyes and keep walking, seeing her deflate when I ignore her overeager smile and desperate show of batting her lashes at me.
“Hey, Cocky. I really enjoyed last night.”
Is she fucking for real?
I turn around and stomp toward her. “Last night shouldn’t have happened. It won’t ever happen again. You need to get that through your head. Don’t touch my shit or go into my room ever again. Stay away from me and stay the hell away from Melissa and Jimmy. I’m warning you for the last time.”
“I’m sorry,” she whispers looking down at her feet. “I can keep a secret.”
“I don’t want or need you to keep shit. Just stay the fuck out of my way,” I seethe. I don’t give her a chance to respond. I leave the clubhouse and drive straight to Cupid and MaryAnn’s to pick up Jimmy.
When I walk in, he’s in the kitchen with MaryAnn eating pancakes. Cupid is gone, and the baby is in her swing. “Was he good?”
“He was missing Melissa at bedtime, but Ryan got him to lay down. Told him you’d give him five dollars if he didn’t cry to go home.”
“That so?” I look at Jimmy and he grins at me with a sticky face.
“You ready to go see Santa?” He nods in reply and finishes his milk. MaryAnn hands me a damp paper towel so I can wipe his face and hands off. “Thanks for watching the squirt.”
MaryAnn studies me. “I guess you spent the night with her last night?”
I stroke my chin. “You’ll have to talk to Melissa about that.”
“Oh believe me I will be.” She laughs and hands me Jimmy’s bag. I get Jimmy strapped into his seat and turn the radio onto some rock ‘n roll. He bobs his head and kicks his feet to the beat of the music.
“I guess I owe you some spending money, huh?”
He holds his hand up as I look back at him through the rearview mirror and waves his five fingers at me. Kids learn the meaning and value of money fast. I pull in at the apartment a few minutes later. Melissa is just getting out of the shower when the two of us walk in.
“Did you guys just get here?” Her brows are knitted in confusion as Jimmy kicks his shoes off and I place his overnight bag on the couch.
“Just came through the door, why?”
She shakes her head slightly and continues squeezing her damp hair with a towel. “Nothing. It’s just I thought I heard the door open and close while I was in the shower. Maybe it was next door.” My mind immediately goes to Carmen breaking into my room at the clubhouse.
“Maybe you should start keeping the door locked.”
“I thought I did, but I was like a zombie until I got in the shower. Was he good for MaryAnn?”
“Yeah. Apparently, I owe him five bucks for not crying to come home and MaryAnn says the two of you are going to talk soon.” I raise my brows at her.
“Don’t. She just gave me a bit of a talk yesterday. Put some stuff into perspective for me.”
“Do I count as stuff?” I nuzzle her neck and she pulls away, motioning her head toward Jimmy. “What? I told you last night, Lissa—you’re mine.”
“I know it’s just I don’t want Jimmy to think I am always with a different guy. He kind of got attached to Justin and I took him away from his father. If we don’t work out what kind of example am I setting for him?”
“I told you. I’m not going anywhere. Not now. Not ever. I want you and Jimmy to move in with me…eventually,” I tack on the eventually after seeing the murderous glint in her eyes.
“I don’t want to rush this. Can we talk about it later though? I need to get my ass in gear, so we can make it to the mall to see Santa in time.”
“Yup.” We definitely will be revisiting the topic sooner rather than later.
Melissa goes to her room and I sit with Jimmy on the couch while he watches cartoons. A few minutes go by and Melissa calls out for Jimmy asking him if he’s seen her favorite bottle of perfume. “No, Momma,” he tells her, fidgeting his fingers.
