“The hell you aren’t.”

“I’m not worried about getting pregnant. I was with my ex for five years and it never happened for us.”

“I’m not your ex and my swimmers are strong. Had that shit tested when my ex couldn’t conceive. But you still didn’t answer me. Are. You. On. The. Pill?”

“Why are you acting all crazy? Pam said you were cool to hook up with. That you wouldn’t have expectations. Now I wake up and you’re being all psycho on me and talking about feelings.”

“Shit changed.”

“When? How?” She laughs.

“The moment I had a taste of your mouth I fuckin’ knew.”

“Knew what?”

“That you’re meant to be mine.”

“Okay. I’m out of here. You know I didn’t need any lines. You already got me into bed so I’m not sure what in the hell you’re trying to pull here. I just left one crazy bastard. I don’t need to get mixed up with another.”

“You could’ve asked Pam about me.”

“I did. She always told me you were happy and gonna marry some lawyer. He the one that did this to you?”

“I don’t want to talk about this. Can you just drive me to Pam’s house?”

“No but I can chain you to my damn bed until you tell me why you’re pushing me away.”

“Last night was perfect. Let’s not ruin it.”

“Call me crazy all you want, but I’m not letting you go a second tim

e. Don’t you see it, sweetheart? Life is giving us a second chance.”

“My life is messed up right now. I have things to take care of in Cleveland.”

“And what do you have here? Your sister. People who love you. Me.”

“You can’t know that it’d work out.”

“And you can’t know that it won’t. How long you in town for?”
