“They won’t stick around long enough. Let’s use the back door. Micah’s driver will be out front.”

“He’s already dead.” I can tell she’s impressed, if only a little, bit it makes me smile.

“Okay, maybe you aren’t as dumb as you look.”

Chapter 6

Trinity

I shove my blade down in my boot and sling my bag over my shoulder. I don’t trust this asshole, but at the moment, I don’t have a whole lot of options. Sure, I could kill him, but then what? And he makes me laugh. There’s not many who can do that. He’s cute too. Has some sexy fuckin ink on them arms. We spent the night in some dank motel off the interstate. Bastard made me sleep next to him. Didn’t trust me not to flee. He’s smart not to trust me. The moment I get a chance I’ll stick his ass and steal his motorcycle and ride to the west coast.

Thinking about what happened at my clubhouse has me pissed all over again. As we left, they didn’t seem like they gave a shit, and now with Nadia dead and me gone, that place is gonna fall into hell. What’s gonna happen with my businesses now? Fuck, maybe I can get a call to the Jacks Devils and see if they’ll take over my shit until I can get back to it. Knowing those bastards, I’d have to kill them to reclaim it though.

Once Micah’s father finds out what happened, I might escape this shit alive, but until he knows the truth, that I wasn’t the one to pull the trigger, he’ll be gunning for me. It’s not like The Luciano Mob Boss much cared for his son. Hell, just last month he told the little shit to stay away from me. But he’s still his blood. The blood that was all over me until I washed it off.

I may not have pulled the trigger, but I know my time on earth is now limited because of this shit. Already knew it would be, ever since I murdered Blaze, I knew one day that club will get payback for their dead Pres. I narrow my eyes at the man I’m with. He doesn’t look familiar but doesn’t mean he can’t be part of the club. Maybe he’s just a contract hire. Since Luciano doesn’t know I yet killed his son, and this guy showed up out of nowhere.

I have a feeling the Blazing Demons are behind this.

“You hungry?” he grunts when he appraises me, his eyes going straight to my tits.

“I could eat.” I hop on the back of his bike and wrap my arms around his middle. I didn’t sleep for shit. I lay my head against his shoulder inhaling his scent. I admit he smells good. I could have worse prospects right now. At least he’s not a fat smelly bastard. I am no closer to figuring out who sent him or what he really wants with me. Not that it matters now. He put a fucking target on both our backs when he killed Micah. Not that I wasn’t happy to see that fucker get his, but this shit is not something I can just smooth over. Pedro won’t take kindly to the insult. It’s the most disrespectful thing one can do in his world. He’ll be out for blood—mine. I know how it looks. Micah and Nadia are both dead in my room. It’ll look as though I caught them together and murdered them in a jealous rage. It’s the farthest thing from the truth, but Pedro will only see what he wants to believe.

As we sit on the grass by the lake, eating our burgers, I realize our location. “You got a phone?” I ask him.

His eyes narrow at me as he chews his food. “Course I do.”

“Can I use it?”

He snorts. “You think I’m fucking stupid?”

Raising a brow, I smirk. “Yeah, I do, but it’s to call the Jacks Devils. They have a charter just two miles out from here. They’ll probably gives us a place to stay for a night or two.”

He looks like he thinks my idea is shit but then grunts a

nd pulls out his phone from his pants pocket. “Don’t do anything fucking stupid,” he tells me, as he tosses it my way.

I’m not a fucking moron. I know the shit we’re in right now. I roll my eyes as I type in the number.

“Who’s this?”

“Breaker, it’s me, Trin. I’m in a spot and need a room.”

“That so. What’s in it for me?”

“We’ll talk one I get there.”

He grumbles, “Bring your ass on then.”

I smile. “I owe you.”

“Fuck yeah you do. I’ll be collecting.”

I end the call and reluctantly hand the cell phone back over. “Satisfied?”

“Yup.” He takes a big bite of his sandwich and tucks his phone back in his jeans. “See this is how we build trust.”

“Buddy, we ain’t building shit. I burn bridges.”
