“Doc…” she whispers.

We pause to look at one another, our breath filling the space between us. My heart races because when I look into her eyes, I know I’m looking at my chance of happiness. We’ll escape together and start over. The Kings will accept her, love her, just as I do.

I know it’s crazy to want this because I haven’t known this woman for more than three days, but somehow our souls have fused in the darkness of this captivity.

I trace the line of her jaw. There’s so much to say, but there are no words. So I kiss her again, and she whimpers as she holds me, our mouths going crazy, our hearts beating wild.

Desperately, I drop my lips to her jaw and then down to her throat, trailing lower to her collarbone, and before I realize my jeans are open and I have her pinned to the wall.

With a cry, her hands fly to my hair, and she drags her nails through my scalp. Her moans are hot and loud in my ear as I take her hard and fast.

I feel frantic and terrified but so damn turned on.

I need her to tell me there’s a chance for us.

That this isn’t it.

Frustration and fear collide with fatigue inside of me. And I’m angry. So angry because Max is a psycho fuck. Because Otto put his hands on her and threatened her. Because now she’s talking like this is it between us. And I can’t explain why, but the idea of this being the end for us kills me. I’m going to get us out of this. I don’t care if I die trying.

She is worth it and more.

For the first time in almost two decades, I let someone see the real me, and I don’t want to let her go. She gets me, and that somehow chases the loneliness away.

This can’t be the end.

I won’t let it be.

“Tell me,” I beg. I turn her face to me as I thrust up into her. “Tell me this isn’t it.” I slam my mouth to hers again as all the emotions in me collide in one dizzying mindfuck.

My climax hits me like a train, and I thrust into her until I feel her nails dig into my skin and her body quake against me. She cries out and softens against me, and I bury my face in the warmth of her neck as she comes.

My heart feels like it’s about to rattle out of my chest cavity as my emotions slowly recede.

“Find me,” she whimpers. “Come back for me.”

Panting, I let her down gently and press my forehead to hers, both of us trying to reclaim our breath.

I gently cup her jaw. “I’m not leaving you. I go, you go.”

Her throat bobs as she swallows, and when our racing hearts have calmed to a gentle thud, she looks up at me, and I see a sadness in her eyes that causes my gut to tighten and my heart to sink.

I try to kiss the sadness away, but when I look again, it is still there.

Unease takes up in the base of my spine.

Still breathing rough, I tuck myself back into my jeans,

“I need to show you something,” she says, straightening her clothes.

She takes my hand, her fingers tangling with mine as she leads me out of the room and down the corridor to the Sky Dome room. She closes the door behind us, and I watch her cross the room.

“What are we doing in here?” I ask.

As she pushes against the wall, I take a few steps to join her. I hear a click, and the wall opens. It’s a jib door hidden in the paneling.

Lily pushes on it, revealing a small room tucked in behind the door, and immediately, a musty cloud of stale air hits my nose.

“A hidden room?”

This place keeps getting weirder and weirder.

“I found it this afternoon while you were changing Odin’s dressings,” she says as I follow her into the cramped little room.

My eyes search around the restricted space, trying to figure out the reason for it. There’s nothing inside except for a pile of old pamphlets, a crusty Playboy magazine, and a packet of cigarettes that look like they’ve been here since the sixties.

Then I notice the tiny hole in the wall.

Placing my eye against it, I peer through and get a perfect view of the bed.

“It’s a peephole,” I say. “The owner was a perv.”

“Yep.”

“Probably waited in here for hours hoping for a show.”

Realizing whoever had been watching the unsuspecting guests had probably whacked off on this very spot, I take a step back, suddenly wanting to avoid any contact with the walls.

“It gives me the creeps,” Lily says with a shiver.

Her eyes gleam in the dim light, and she looks adorable. If I didn’t feel a need to take a shower, I would kiss her, but this tiny room of voyeuristic sleaze is a mood killer.
