“What are you talking about?”
“Cartwell is calling his family and friends. Says they can help us more than the locals. He claims they’re used to this sort of thing—stalkers and crazy women apparently gave his daughters a fit at one time or another. Anyway, Cartwell’s pals will arrive tomorrow.”
“He doesn’t think we can protect Brianna?”
“We can’t,” Jax admitted, pained by the fact. “Listen, Tyler, I took a few good hits from these guys and I’m pretty sure if it had been four on one instead of two on one, I wouldn’t have made it out of those wetlands today. I’m standing here tonight because two of the fellas took off chasing Brianna. Otherwise, they would’ve beaten me to an inch of my life and then they would’ve shot me in the face. We aren’t dealing with the good ole boys from here in Tennessee. These guys will be carrying weapons we haven’t even seen.”
“Then Cartwell’s friends aren’t really that much help then, are they?”
“That’s where you’re wrong. I read the old guy pretty damn well. If he draws, he shoots to kill. He doesn’t care who or what he’s hitting as long as he makes his point to his enemies.”
“And what point is that?” Tyler asked.
“Nobody fucks with his family.”
Chapter Fourteen
Brianna’s arms were bound and high above her head. Her ankles were tied and her legs were spread. Her nipples—God bless those pretty little peaks—were clamped and her pussy was stuffed with a vibrator on low speed. She wore a bandana over her eyes and not another stitch of clothing or material. In a word, she was beautiful.
Jax stood at the end of the bed, wondering why it had taken them this long to come to their senses. As her hair flamed around her flushed face and her body braced for another electrifying current from the toy, he couldn’t help but stand there in awe.
“I’m mesmerized.”
“Flint said you and Tyler would be surprised.”
“Flint used us, did he?”
She gasped then and grabbed hold of the pulleys, trying to lift her body away from the toy now speeding into action, rubbing against her channel and dancing between her folds. “Oh God! I don’t know how much I can take of this!”
“Relax, Brianna. Enjoy it.” Tyler’s voice was barely audible. Dressed now in pajama pants, he was clearly hard and uncomfortable watching her.
Jax understood well. He’d been one walking hard-on before he’d enjoyed the little vixen.
“We’ll be right back, Brianna,” Jax said, motioning for Flint and Tyler.
Once in the hallway, he said, “I thought we agreed to introduce soft play first.”
“This is soft play as far as I’m concerned.” Like Jax, Flint was never wrong. “And she’s been enjoying herself. Can’t you tell?”
“No, I couldn’t tell. You have a damn blindfold over her eyes.” Jax was a bit miffed over the blindfold. He didn’t want her to feel too vulnerable after everything she’d been through.
“She told me about the motel, Jax. As much as we want to believe she didn’t go there looking for trouble, there was more to the story. She was in fact looking for a man. He didn’t rape her. He went nuts on her at the end, but everything she’s told me so far suggests she wanted the sex, invited it, and had even enjoyed it until he turned into this dark creature.”
“I know. She told me all that, too.”
“So then what’s the problem?” Flint asked.
“There isn’t one.” Jax peered inside her bedroom. “Did she say anything about her room?”
“She loves it.” Flint grinned like a man who’d just won a pot of gold. “Loves it.”
“Do you think she’ll stay?” Jax asked, fearing she might think all of this was too much too soon.
“She cares about us,” Tyler said. “Hell, anyone can tell that by the way she looks at us.”
Flint expression hardened instantly. “Was that Cartwell on the phone?”
“Yes. He’s all set to send his friends here first thing in the morning.”
