Jock Blocked: A Billionaires on the Beach

Other couples.
Had I really just thought of Kincade and myself as if we were a couple? I didn’t have that kind of luck.
The next song started and Kincade moved forward, pushing his hips against mine until I stepped back. The music was faster, and evidently, he had some new dance moves. I tried to go with the flow and let him guide me, but I kept getting the timing wrong and bumping into him.
“Let’s try something.” He took both of my hands in his and then raised them, lifting my hands up to his neck. Getting the idea, I linked my hands behind his neck, shivering when he trailed his fingers down my arms. His hands settled on either side of my waist and we were only inches apart. “That’s better.”
Being that near him was short-circuiting my systems. I could feel the heat from his body as we moved together. But he was right, it was easier to dance this way. It was like with him being so close, it was easier for my body to pick up on the signals his was giving.
I looked into his eyes as we moved around the dance floor. His hair looked light brown in the lower light, but I could still see the green of his eyes. His beard was the shortest of the three of them… more like four-day-old stubble than an actual beard.
It was pretty damn sexy. As was he. He was a damn good dancer, too, because he made it easy for me. And fun. As we danced, he switched back and forth from flirty to funny, and I found myself laughing a lot.
When he wasn’t joking, when we were just moving together easily, I’d sometimes feel eyes on me. As Kincade spun me around, I didn’t see anyone looking in our direction, but the feeling remained.
Was it Brock? Kincade said he was nearby. Would he appear behind Kincade, tap on his shoulder, and ask to cut in? The thought filled me with delicious shivers. But as one song changed into another, no one showed up.
It was stupid to be disappointed. I’d already danced with two incredibly handsome men tonight. That alone was enough to fuel my fantasies for a long time. I wished my best friend Emma could have seen us. She would’ve been really impressed by my dance partners.
As fun as it was dancing with Kincade, I was a little relieved when he suggested we get something to drink. In the first place, I was a little tired. It had been a long day. Plus, I wasn’t in as good of shape as Kincade and Jessie were. They made everything they did look easy.
Kincade took my hand and we wound past the other dancers. He led me to the bar, where he ordered a scotch, but I just wanted champagne again. It wasn’t often I got to drink that kind of thing, especially not the good stuff that they served here.
After we had our drinks, I followed Kincade to an isolated table off to the side near an unoccupied hot tub. That was when I saw the dark, nearly black eyes that I’d imagined I’d felt before. It had to be imaginary, right? No way a man like Brock had spent his evening watching a curvy girl like me on the dance floor.
Jessie sat next to him, but both stood when we approached. For a moment, I was disappointed, thinking that they were headed somewhere else. Then I realized they’d stood because of me.
Wow. I didn’t know that men did that anymore.
Brock held out a chair and I sat down as daintily as I could. His hand brushed against the bare skin of my back as he lifted it away. The skin that he’d stroked warmed, as if he was a source of heat.
“You two looked good together,” Jessie said to Kincade and me once everyone was seated.
Hmm… how could I respond to that? Was he upset that I’d switched to dancing with his friend? But somehow, he didn’t seem like the jealous type. “I enjoyed dancing with you, too.”
Jessie chuckled. “Good to know, but Kincade’s a better dancer than me. Not all women can keep up with him.” That was probably just an exaggeration on his part, but it was still kind of him to say.
“It’s because he lives in Vegas,” Brock said. “Lots of nightclubs there. Our boy’s a party animal.”
“Don’t you live in Los Angeles?” I asked. It seemed like there would be a big club scene there, too.
Brock raised an eyebrow in a way that sent shivers down my spine. “You looked me up?”
I was grateful that the soft lighting probably didn’t reveal my blush. “Well, sure. You’re the best man, my partner in crime this week. I wanted to know who I was dealing with.”
