Play Along - Page 61

Fuck.

She’s trying to get to Vikinos.

I fell straight into the bloody trap.

Fucking idiot.

She has to be a cop, who else could she be? My mind goes back to when we found her as she came out of that back door. It wasn’t a coincidence at all that she witnessed that hit, but then she was crying? Why was she crying? I think for a moment. Do we have a mole on the ship that has tipped them off?

Fuck, I’m so confused.

I think about it for a moment. What if she acted vulnerable knowing that I would protect her?

She got me. She got me good. I thought butter wouldn’t have melted in her mouth.

“You okay?” she whispers, breaking my thoughts.

I fake a smile and take her in my arms and kiss her forehead. “Yeah, baby. I got a lot on my mind.”

“Like what?”

My fury simmers dangerously close to the surface. Wouldn’t she like to know? “Work stuff, nothing you need to worry about.”

She slides her top leg over mine and I feel my cock reharden. For fuck’s sake, enough with the fucking erections. My mind continues to wander. I’m going to have to kill her. Her leg slides up against mine and I feel myself harden further.

How? I need to get into the gun safe. I can’t kill her with my hands. I already know that.

She softly nestles into my chest and sighs happily.

Fuck.

This brings sleeping with the enemy to a whole new level.

She leans up onto her elbow and smiles down at me and then leans in and gently kisses my lips. My eyes close. I can’t keep them open when she kisses me.

“I wanted to talk to you about something,” she murmurs.

“Yeah?”

“Last night when I was at dinner, I overheard Stucco and that skanky girl with the black hair talking.”

My eyes hold hers and I fold my arms behind my head. “And?”

“He said he was going to kill you.”

“He’s a fuckwit and threatens to kill me weekly.” I run my fingers through her long, dark hair without thinking. Her big, beautiful eyes stare down at me and I feel my chest constrict.

“He said he needed to get into the gun safe.”

I frown. She must have heard him. How else would she know about the gun safe?

“And you are telling me this because…?”

She screws up her face as if I am stupid. “Because I don’t want anything to happen to you. I think you need to carry a gun to protect yourself against this pre-planned mutiny.”

I smirk. She’s a good actor and probably should get an Oscar. “You don’t need to worry about me. I can take care of myself.”

She sits up and the blankets fall revealing her breasts. My eyes instinctively drop to them and I reach out and cup one in my hand as I think.
