Play Along - Page 99

She starts to sing up at me and I know it’s the champagne singing, but it just may be the most perfect thing I have ever heard.

If only.

Cut it out. I have to get out of this sappy mood. This isn’t me. This isn’t who I am. I don’t do sappy.

I twirl her violently again and she laughs out loud.

I will remember this, dancing to this hippy song with this beautiful girl, her laughter ringing loud around me.

The way she looks up at me, the way she feels in my arms.

With one last twirl the song ends and the dance floor empties. She walks over to the DJ.

“Excuse me, what is the name of that song, please?” She asks.

“Play That Song by Train,” The DJ replies.

“Thank you,” she replies. “Can you put that in your phone for me so I don’t forget?” she asks me.

I smirk as I type the name into my notes. “You like that song?” I ask.

“My favorite.” She smiles.

We walk into the foyer of the hotel and into the elevator.

Just walk her to the door and kiss her goodnight.

That’s it.

Nothing else.

Just a kiss. One kiss.

She has dreamed of a perfect date for all of her life, and damn it, I am going to give it to her if it’s the last thing I do… and it might just be the last thing I do. I could die tomorrow because my balls are already hurting from what they know they are missing out on.

We hold hands and I stare at the floor, focused on the task at hand.

One kiss. Just one kiss.

I can do this. Of course I can do this.

“Oh, look, there’s a pool,” she whispers excitedly. “Can we go see it?”

“Ah.” I hesitate. Oh, that’s not a good idea. More alone time. “Sure,” my mouth replies before consulting my brain or my dick…. the control center of this male body.

She pushes the button before waiting for my reply and soon the elevator doors are opening. The pool area is on the roof and the lights from the surrounding buildings glow in the distance. The area is darkened with spotlights in the water.

“Oh, isn’t it perfect,” she cries. She is tottery on her feet and I smile at her inebriation

I smile. “It is.”

She wraps her arms around my neck. “Let’s dance again.”

I wrap my arms around her and hold her close. “We don’t have any music,” I whisper.

She stares up at me and starts to sing the words to that song we danced to.
