“Oh . . .” I had never been touched like this before. I was nervous. But I was also curious. I wanted to know what it might feel like. And I couldn’t say no. “Okay.”

“Lie back,” he said quickly, pushing my skirt to my waist as I did as he asked. “Part your thighs,” he instructed as I let him arrange my body to his liking. It was dark in the car, but I could see his eyes focused between my legs, on my bare pussy.

I nearly lost my nerve. But I was tingling with anticipation. I had never wanted anyone, or anything, as badly as I wanted Jaken to touch me in that moment.

“Are you sure?” he asked needlessly.

I nodded quickly, and thankfully, things moved faster after that. His hands were on my thighs, holding me open and exposed to his eyes. I whimpered as he kissed me there, running his tongue up and down my body before settling in, his shoulders wedging between my thighs.

I clenched my fists as he pushed his tongue inside me, his fingers finding my clit and starting to strum it like a guitar.

Oh. My. Goodness.

The combination of his rough hands and hot, wet mouth on my bare pussy was unbelievable. I was going to explode, and soon. But then he stopped.

“Is this okay?”

I moaned incoherently, and he grinned at me, looking pleased with himself. I nearly grabbed his head and shoved it back between my thighs. All my shyness was gone. I wanted this. And I wanted it now.

He began again, this time carefully slipping a finger inside me as he stared down at my opening. I shivered as his breath fanned my wet folds.

“So sweet,” he murmured. “So tight.”

His lips found my clit and pulled on it hard, flicking his tongue against me rapidly. My body arched up so hard and fast that I nearly hit the dashboard. He held me down with one hand on my belly as he made a meal out of me.

I started shaking as light filled my being. I wondered if everyone could see it. It’s brighter than the movie projector, I thought mindlessly. Brighter than the moon. Brighter than the stars.

So that is what the fuss is all about, I thought as I drifted back to reality. I felt like I was floating in a pool. Or in the ocean. My body was heavy and light at the same time. Hot and cold. Tingling and yet profoundly satisfied.

But Jaken didn’t stop. He spent the rest of the movie bringing me to climax after climax. And when he dropped me home that night, he kissed me and asked when he could see me again.

“It had better be soon,” he added between kisses. I could feel his arousal. I knew he hadn’t gotten what he wanted.

But he had promised me that he didn’t want to rush things.

And that next time, we would spend some quality time together in an actual bed.

Chapter Eight

Mason

“Earth to Jaken, come in Jaken.”

My bartender barely looked at me. He had been wiping down the bar for ten minutes. Specifically, he had been wiping down the same spot on the bar for ten minutes.

“Hmmm?”

“You okay, man?”

“Yeah. Great. She’s great.”

“She?” I said, holding back a laugh. “I didn’t say anything about a she.”

He blinked at me, snapping out of it slightly.

“Sorry, Mase. I guess I am a little distracted.”

“A little,” I said, finally letting loose with a chuckle. “You are in outer space, my friend.”

He smiled a little at that. Then looked alarmed. Then disgruntled.

“It’s not smart to let a woman mess around in your head like this.”

“It’s not always smart,” I corrected him. “But sometimes it’s the best damned thing that could happen to you.”

“That’s different. Michelle loves you.”

“Not at first. I had to earn that. And to earn it, I had to let down my guard.”

Jaken looked worried about that. I felt for him, I really did. It had to be lonely, living on the run the way he had for so long. I was half afraid he would just up and run again and I would never see him again.

“This girl could hurt me. She will. I mean, she would, if she knew.”

“The full story,” I finished for him. I frowned. Jaken had quite a story. None of it was his fault. But his life was not his own. “What if she understood?”

“Doubtful,” he said, looking forlorn. “Why should she?”

“Because you are a good man and that is obvious to anyone.”

The door jingled and I turned to see my preteen daughter and her friends come in. They were giggling as they took a table. My wife must have dropped them off.

I would scold her for not coming in for a kiss when I saw her later tonight. Her daughter left her friends and gave me a quick kiss on the cheek.
