“Yeah, we did. I knew him then because I knew about my mother and father. I spent time in Patience to study them. See how they worked. Try to figure out why the fuck my father could possibly love one. I ran into him once, actually. It was after you fucked him. He was there on King business; I lied and said I was there for Kiznitch. What has that got to do with shit, Lil, and I’m done playing fucking games.” There are three of us in this relationship, so that means three times the trouble, three times the angst, and three times the fucking fight.

I spin around to face them both. “Nothing! It’s the fact you both have kept something from me!” I snap my mouth closed, standing straighter with my shoulders back. What? Since when did something like this annoy me?

I hear deep chuckling and my eyes fly up to Eli, who is hiding behind a smile.

“I will punch you.”

Eli’s grinning stops, his hand moving from his mouth. High cheekbones, soft lips, and sharp features. So beautiful. Too beautiful. “Good. Can you do it while riding my dick?”

“Lilith.” Kyrin steps forward, and my heart slows. I can feel the pulsating rhythm right down to the tips of my toes as he closes the distance, but I keep my eyes on Eli, who’s swallowing me whole as every second passes. Fingers are on my chin, tilting my face up until I’m shifting from green moss to dark lava. “I want you.” The words don’t penetrate my brain fast enough. I’ve heard of how people talk about Kyrin Nero. His interest is always a zero, but his body count is high. He fucks hard enough to leave the taste of himself burned in the back of your throat for years, so crisp that you’ll be whispering his name every time you think you aren’t.

But—“you hurt me.”

His brows pull tighter, his eyes sliding to my lips, tracing the way his thumb grazes against the curve of my bottom lip. “I know, baby. I’m sorry.”

“I don’t trust you,” I further say, though it comes out as a whisper because my throat tightens and refuses to let the words release. I don’t like vulnerability.

“I’ll change that with time.” His fingers spread wide over my cheek and I sigh, resting into his grip. Seconds pass when I feel the calming frost of his touch penetrate all the fiery corners of my burned soul.

Do I trust him? No.

Eli? Partially yes.

Am I hurt? Beyond repair.

“Take me home?” I blink my eyes up at Kyrin and watch as he turns over his shoulder slightly, nudging his head.

I slip my hand into Kyrin’s and watch as they intertwine. It’s not until Eli is walking in front of us that Kyrin takes my phone from me. He raises the lens up, capturing a small video of his and my hand, and before moving to him, wrapping his arm around Eli in front of us. He slides through the filters and chooses something grungy before typing the caption. Ours.

He slides my phone back into my pocket as we make our way out. The more I think about everything that has happened among the three of us, the more I realize one thing, and that’s broken pieces all fit when they all belong to the same puzzle.

I jump up onto Eli’s back and he grabs me by the back of my thighs, hiking my body up as I slip off his aviator glasses and put them on myself. He continues to carry me on his back to the lake house. In this moment, even with so much uncertainty and drama hovering over our situation, I find myself happy. In this moment. Maybe I am reckless now that I feel all of the emotions I didn’t know I had hidden deep, but something tells me that both of these men know exactly how to keep them in line, and if they don’t, then good luck to them.

I’m still upset with Kyrin. I know I haven’t forgiven him yet, nor do I think he’s being completely honest, but I’m happy. Even if I know I’m also not being very honest with them…

And happiness isn’t something I have felt before.

We climb the front stairs until Eli pushes open the door, sliding me back to my feet. The sun is setting in the back, the cool air leaving a bite in its wake. Seeing the red flames from the open fireplace warms me in more ways than one.

Dammit.

I drop my phone and hoodie onto the sofa, just in time for Eli to wrap his arms around me from behind, pressing soft kisses over my shoulder. “We got time…”

Kyrin rounds the sofa, falling down on top while keeping his eyes on both of us. “Yeah, we do.” He spreads his legs and my thighs clench together—but only for a brief second because Eli’s fingers are trailing down the front of my pants. I bite down on my lower lip, tilting my head to the side to give him more access. When I open my eyes again, Kyrin’s hand is around the trunk of his cock. I step forward, needing it, him, with Eli’s hand still down my pants. Instead of climbing on top of him, I sit beside him, leaning farther into Kyrin’s neck and running my tongue up to the curve of his sharp jaw.
