He licked deeper, letting his voice rumble and vibrate against the very centre of her need as he let her know just how remarkable she was. He basked in the sensation of her hands reaching for him, her fingers biting into his shoulders.

Her moans were becoming louder now, more insistent. Each one jolted through him like flashes of spectacular lightning.

How he’d missed this. Her. Her sound, her scent, her taste. It made him ache again and, this time, he couldn’t take any more. Moving his mouth that final millimetre, to the very centre of her core, he found what he was looking for and sucked. Hard.

Talia screamed. A low, glorious sound that seemed to echo all around him. Her grip tightened on his shoulders as she bucked wildly at his mouth, but he held her backside and licked all the more. Again and again, she shattered beneath him and it occurred to him that surely he had never seen her as beautiful as she was now.

The woman he’d thought he’d lost—and perhaps he had—but he had her back now. If only for a single month. He might not be able to offer her the marriage or the family that she wanted, but since she hadn’t yet found it with someone more worthy then he could offer her one final, perfect month.

‘Aren’t you overdressed?’ Talia panted when she finally came back to herself, as if it had suddenly occurred to her that she was the only one fully undressed.

He liked the fact that it had taken her quite a time. And he also liked the slight flush of colour he could detect in her cheeks. Exertion? Embarrassment at her abandon? Or both?

‘If you want me undressed, you only have to ask,’ he remarked dryly.

She narrowed her eyes at him, flipping herself into a sitting position before he realised what she was doing. That suppleness, litheness that he’d always admired. Reaching out with her hand, she caught him by the waist of his cargo shorts, and pulled him closer, her eyes locking with his.

‘Who said anything about asking?’

The husky tone threaded its way around the room, and right through Liam. It coiled low in his abdomen.

And lower again.

He couldn’t pull his gaze away for a second, her rich brown eyes captivating him as she stared at him; a gleam telling that she knew precisely what she was doing with every slow pull of the zipper. Right over where he was hardest for her.

The sight of her mouth, right there, so close to him, was almost too hard to handle. And then she flicked her tongue over her lips as if she knew exactly what he was thinking. Dear God, if she did that, he feared he might embarrass himself right there and then.

‘Not yet,’ he growled out, pulling away from her.

‘Why not?’ It was more of a challenge than a question.

His Talia had never been a shrinking violet, either in bed or out of it. It was one of the things that he admired most about her.

She was stunning. Incredible. She had haunted his dreams but he hadn’t expected to ever see her again in the flesh. Then he’d received that call; discovered that she was the one who had put his name forward. And now they were here, and she was real; and he’d be damned if he’d let things go off like that. With him in her mouth.

Stripping off the rest of his clothes, he pushed her gently back on the bed and nudged her legs apart again with his knee.

‘Stop asking questions and just kiss me,’ he ordered instead, nonetheless with a thread of surprise when she sighed softly, looped her arms over his neck and simply complied.

He had no idea how long they kissed, lost in the glory of each other. He relearned every inch of her delectable body from the long, elegant line of her neck to the exquisite swell of her chest.

He took one nipple in his mouth, lavishing such care and attention on it that he thought he might burst from his own need, then he turned his focus to the other. He traced the dip at the side of her waist and drew whorls with his fingers and his tongue, all the way to her belly button, and the ring that he remembered nestling in there.

‘This all feels rather...one-sided,’ she breathed at one point.

He could barely make his voice work long enough to assure her that it wasn’t. It wasn’t at all.

And it wasn’t just about rediscovering her body, the hazy realisation crept through Liam’s mind at one point. It also felt as though he had found where Talia had been hiding all this time. He just had no idea what he was supposed to be doing with such a discovery.

She shifted abruptly, and he wasn’t ready for it. All of a sudden he found himself nestled at her entrance. His blunt head against all that wet heat, and he couldn’t run any more. Even if he’d thought to, Talia suddenly slid her hands down his back, raised her hips, and drew him straight inside her.

He groaned as she swivelled her hips, drawing him as deep as she could. So deep that as he scooped her to him and began to move, he couldn’t be sure where one of them ended and the other began.

She clung to him, her hips moving to his rhythm and meeting him stroke for stroke. With his free hand, he allowed himself to roam her body, caressing her velvety skin, his mouth pressed against that hollow that he knew sent her wild.

Her gasps and moans were like a song, swelling in his chest. He slid out of her, then back in, and the song grew louder. He moved again, then again, and again, the pace becoming more and more devastating each time. A wildfire that was growing too much to contain.

He ran his hand down the front of her body, feeling the way her body rippled beneath him, until he reached between them right to where her body knew its desire, driving her to the edge. Closer and closer, until he could barely hold his own control any longer.
