Vixen Claimed (Vintage Vixen 1) - Page 10

“As I’m sure you’ve heard, last night we reconnected plenty. We’re like old friends. We picked up right where we left off.” Her hips swayed gently from side to side as she approached him, halting mere inches from his body.

“Will you accept our invitation?” She placed her damp hands on his chest.

“To-to what?”

“To play, to be a part of our relationship? It’s up to you what you choose to do.” Her hand traveled lower to cup him. “But I hope you stay.” She rolled his balls and he gasped.

It’d been so long since he’d experienced a woman’s touch. He wanted to close his eyes and let her do as she pleased. Pity fuck. The words shattered the moment. His cock lost its momentum going limp as he stepped away.

“I don’t need a pity fuck, so thanks but no thanks.” He turned away, ignoring the devastated expression that covered her face. “I can’t believe you did this, Jace. You know I love you but this is crossing the line.”

“What the hell are you talking about, Tristan?”

“Do you think I’m so desperate I have to share your woman?”

“What? No. I saw the connection—”

“Maybe you were just curious, huh? Wanted to know if the cripple could get it up again? The answer is yes,” he sneered. Anger and embarrassment made his face hot a as lava. He pushed past Jace, out of the bathroom, eager to reach the sanctity of his room. The rapping of his braces against the wooden floor sounded angry. Had he become such a charity case?

“Tristan, wait! You got this all wrong.”

He stopped outside the door to his room.

“How? I’ve known you a long time, Jace. You’re as hetero as they come and so am I.”

“I know that, but I still love both of you. I want us to try this.”

“Why?”

“Because I think she can make you happy. I saw something in you that’s been missing for damn near three years, Tristan.”

He opened his mouth to protest and Jace shook his head, holding out an open palm.

“No, I’m not talking about desire. I’m talking genuine interest. There’s no way in hell I could take that away from you, especially when I know one hundred percent the woman is trustworthy. I know Devlin and I have been apart for a while but someone as amazing as she was doesn’t change. I hated her for what I thought she did to me, yes. But that was a mixture of all the fucked-up feelings from growing up with my father, feeling like a total disappointment. In my head, she’d realized he was right and that’s why she didn’t keep in contact.”

The fight drained out of him at Jace’s sincere words and the slump of his shoulders.

“Jace, you know that’s not true.”

“Yeah, I do now, but not at eighteen.” He shook his head. “Loving Devlin is all-consuming. She gives you her entire heart and expects the same in return but it’s so worthwhile… I want you to experience that. You deserve it.”

“How do you know you won’t get jealous? These trios rarely work out.”

“This one is different. Can’t you feel it?” Jace asked.

“I don’t know what I feel.”

“All I ask is you give us the chance to find out.”

Tristan sighed. He had a hard time saying no to his best friend, always had. It usually led them to one of two things, greatness or disaster. What do you have to lose? The best friendship I’ve ever known.

“I don’t know, Jace.”

“Just give us the weekend.”

“Fine,” he said, resigned. “Let’s see if what’s between us is more than a fluke of chemistry. We have to go give her car a quick once-over to order parts before the weekend is up anyway. I’ll mull it over a bit.”

“Yes!” Jace pumped his fist in the air and Tristan laughed as he ran back to the bathroom.
