Flying High - Page 24

I can’t stop smiling. Is this really happening?

“Now you have no excuses. So… Nia, my love. My everything. Will you marry me?”

There’s only one answer I could possibly give.

“Yes!”

Six months later…

“If you look out the right window,” I say into the headset, “you’ll see the lush tropical valleys of the north shore of Molokai.”

The two sets of newlyweds in the back of the helicopter lean over to look out.

As usual, Jack just looks at me.

We’re giving a helicopter tour of Maui together. He’s been flying while I’ve been narrating the tours. It’s so fun.

In a month or two, I’ll be in the Captain’s seat. I’m so close to getting my commercial helicopter pilot license and I can’t wait. Jack takes me flying every morning and I’ve come a long way in the past six months. He says I’m a natural. I can’t help but agree.

I got my private license a few weeks ago, so I’m able to fly by myself, but it’s hard for Jack to let me go up alone. I’ve done it, but he always wants to be by my side. It’s hilarious watching him pace around on the ground like a mad man whenever I’m taking off solo. I always feel bad and come back for him after a few minutes.

“You’re in luck,” I tell the group. “Check out the humpback whales swimming in the Pailolo channel down there.”

The two couples ooh and ahh as they pull out their phones for pictures and videos. I hit the switch that disconnects my headset from them and is only linked to Jack.

“Whales,” I say with a teasing grin. “Aren’t you going to look?”

His hungry eyes are roaming up and down my bare legs. I’m wearing a new sundress that I just bought. It’s in my new wardrobe that Jack treated me to after all of my old clothes stopped fitting.

“There’s no better view than what I’m looking at,” he says with a heated look as he slowly drags his eyes up my body before making eye contact. I’m tingling all over with that sexy gaze on me.

I’m five months pregnant and have been hornier than ever. I can’t seem to get enough of this man. I just want to climb on top of him and hump him dry.

My new best friend Akua stepped on a thorn and injured her paw this morning, so we were occupied with her, making sure she was okay, which she was. But that meant we didn’t have time to partake in our usual morning festivities.

We’re both feeling it now. Like the jittery feeling you have when you don’t get your morning coffee, that’s how I feel when I don’t get my morning sex.

With the guests distracted, I slide my hand into Jack’s lap and—holy hell!—he’s rock hard. I snap my hand back and suck in a breath. We need to end this tour as quickly as possible.

Jack flies the rest of the route while I go through the motions, pointing out the sights.

I’m saying the usual words, but I’m not really paying attention. I’m thinking about how thankful I am that I took a chance and stayed.

I adore my new life.

Jack has been amazing. We got married a week after my coworkers left. Just us, our parents, Rachel and Kyle, and Jack’s best friend Matt who he met in the Air Force. Jack flew them all down to Kaui and we spent a wonderful week in private beachfront villas, celebrating our new commitment to one another with the closest people in our lives.

His properties are unreal. It feels like I’m on vacation every day of my life, especially with a full staff at my beck and call. I’m definitely living large.

My body is humming with anticipation as we land back at the office. The two couples barely have time to step out of the helicopter before Jack is taking off again at a crazy speed.

“In a rush, are we?” I ask him with a grin as we rise over their heads.

He points the nose toward our special beach spot and goes as fast as the helicopter can go. I grab onto the seat as my pulse races. He seems to be in even more desperate shape than me.

“You’re killing me in that dress,” he says with a heavy breath. “Please tell me you’re not wearing any panties.”

“Land this helicopter and find out for yourself,” I say with a grin.

“Careful, Nia,” he warns. “I’ll land it in the middle of the highway for a touch of that wet little pussy.”

He’s crazy enough that I believe him.

“Stay in the air,” I say as I grab his hand and put it between my legs. I spread my thighs as his hand slips under my dress.

“Fuck,” I moan as my head drops back onto the seat. “Let’s get to that beach. Quickly.”
