“Feel any better?” I asked with a teasing grin.
For a split second, he looked horrified as the realization he’d fallen asleep on me crashed through him. But then a moment later, he huffed out a smile. “I guess I made myself right at home.”
“I guess you did.”
I kept running my fingers through his hair as if all the thick blond strands needed smoothing. They didn’t.
Our eyes met and stayed locked together for a heavy beat before Miller blinked and looked away self-consciously. “How long did I sleep?”
I moved my hand to his cheek and gently turned his face back toward me. “Just long enough.”
His eyebrows furrowed in confusion, and I could no longer resist leaning in to press a lingering kiss against his warm cheek.
Miller’s breath hitched, and his hand came out instinctively to clutch the fabric of my shirt over my chest. He turned his head toward me until our lips brushed together. It was featherlight at first, teasing and barely there. But then we fell into a wordless duel. Our mouths flirted with each other, feinting and parrying, until both of us had silly grins on our faces.
I finally couldn’t take it anymore and tackled him on the sofa, pushing him down and devouring his lush mouth until both of us were rock hard and panting. Miller’s hard cock arched up against mine, and his hands grabbed my ass possessively.
Gone was the unsure man from the bakery, and in his place was a passionate, engaged, confident lover.
“Want you,” Miller gasped between kisses. “Please.”
I nipped at the side of his neck and reached down to rub his dick through his pants at the same time. “Want you, too.”
My head was filled with visions of Miller naked and begging, spread out on the rug in front of the fireplace. I imagined his hole slick and soft after long, edging prep. My tongue could almost taste the hard peaks of his nipples and smell the masculine scent of his body as I nosed my way down to suck him off.
The shrill peal of my phone alarm interrupted our foreplay, and it took me several long moments of confusion before I could place what that meant.
I dropped several softer kisses on his neck, jaw, and cheek before climbing off him. “It’s late. That’s my reminder alarm. I’m teaching a class tonight and need to get to the bakery to gather everything I need. Sorry, I didn’t realize how late it had gotten.”
Miller sat up and straightened his clothes. “Shit. Sorry. I didn’t know…”
“Of course not. I think it’s a surprise.”
Miller’s face crinkled into confusion again. “What do you mean?”
I reached out a hand to pull him off the sofa. “My class tonight is at Rockley Lodge. I’m teaching a beautiful, sexy man and his family how to decorate holiday cookies.”
Miller’s jaw dropped in surprise, and I took the opportunity to steal another kiss before hustling him out the door.

I was feeling an odd combination of excitement and nerves. Darius was going to spend the evening with my entire family? Since when? And why hadn’t he mentioned it before now?
After dropping me off at the lodge, he left to do his prep work at the bakery. I took the stack of baklava boxes and the bag with the chicken soup into the kitchen, where Tiller and Mikey were having a quiet conversation in front of the large commercial range.
They stood close together with Tiller’s large hand spread across Mikey’s lower back. Tiller held Mikey to him while he spoke to him with a soft, affectionate smile. As soon as they heard the crinkle of the paper bag I carried, they turned and greeted me.
“There you are,” Mikey said. “You were gone all day. Did you have a nice time with Darius?”
I set my spoils on the kitchen island. “I fell asleep on him,” I admitted. “He lit a fire and put on some music… next thing I knew, I was drooling all over myself.”
Tiller laughed and stepped closer to help unpack the goodies. “Mikey’s been known to drool in Darius’s presence also. It’s not uncommon.”
Mikey made a disgruntled sound and swatted at Tiller’s ass. “I drool over the bakery treats, not the baker himself.”
Tiller shot me a knowing look. “We’ll allow him his denials as long as he allows us to drool too. Darius is a fine-looking man, isn’t he?”
I opened my mouth to respond, but I mostly sputtered out something incomprehensible like, “M’hmpf, nut puticular norflup.” I’d meant to say something suave like, “Hm, not that I noticed in particular,” but it came out at the same time as, “Mm-hm, yup,” and got kind of mixed together. Tiller and Mikey howled with laughter.
“Gurl, same,” Mikey said between giggles.
I sighed. “Anyone have a fire extinguisher I can use on my face real quick? Thanks.”
